Found our way here after reading a few reviews. Yes, it's accessible with a normal car...just. The last stretch of track was a bit hairy. The amphitheatre is really impressive with fantastic views over the hills to the sea. A nice way to kill an hour or two and see some of the countryside away from the coast. You're likely... More

Shared a taxi with another couple and the driver took us up a very stony track to the centre of an archaeological delight over 2000 years old! Loads of tombs and amphitheatre in middle of nowhere, just off Kas to Demre road near Yavus.

Kyaneai is an impressive ancient site and a perfect place for a picnic as it is at the top of a plateau with a nice view of the sea. Mostly you will have the site to yourself as it is not well known and cannot be accessed by public transportation. If coming from the Demre direction it will be on... More

We were in December 2014 in Turkey and took a tour from Kas to the ancient site of Kyaneai. We took a dolmus from Kas to Demre, and said to the driver we want to jump out at Kyaneai. It's a short ride, about half an hour or less. The ancient site is on the left side of the D400... More

An amazing place. Secluded and untouched. Great place for a picnic surrounded by history and goats grazing in the nearby field.

Having passed the brown sign off the D400 on a rare previous foray East out of Kas and read the reviews below I was determined to pay a visit to Kyaneai. There is hardly anything about this place in most guidebooks and it is definitely not on the coach tour schedules, being several km of gravel and rocky track off... More

We have been to this historical site to the courtesy of one of officiers working at an government office in this area and found this place by his help.Otherwise, very difficult to find it out as there is not enough road signs after you exit the highway with the sign to Kyaenai Ancient Site.Look for some locals in the area who... This site was one of my favourite in Turkey. It was a little tricky to find by car with no electronic device. Thankfully a local stopped to point us in the right direction. We arrived at Kyaneai to watch a herd of goats being driven over the amphitheatre. The sarcophagi here are astounding. Only steel determination could have hauled those... More

I read about these ruins on TripAdvisor, and based on the positive reviews, we decided to check them out. We went in the evening, arriving at about 6:30 PM, so it wasn't too hot by then and we had the place completely to ourselves. We walked around the amphitheater, and took pictures climbing on the various ruins. It's not the... More
