The best-known attraction among the ruins of Aspendos is the great theater, an amazingly well preserved vestige of Roman architecture that may be as impressive as Rome's own Colosseum.

Well preserved and in use Romano Greek theatre, recommend you visit early or late in the day as it is a sun trap and gets very hot. Best to visit on a guided tour with local expert guide

Breathtaking ancient theater. It is a bit outside of the town centre but you can use shuttle services or a taxi. Taxi is more expensive of course. Currently there are some props placed on the stage for the upcoming play.

This is the most intact Roman theatre I have ever seen. It appears that once the marble tiles covering the concrete blocks were removed, thieves did not want the ugly concrete blocks. The result is that the entire theatre, including the columns at the top...More

I've always been fascinated by gladiators, so to step into such a well preserved amphitheatre was great. The acoustics of the place and the story behind how it led to the architect winning the emperor's daughter's hand is pretty interesting too. A little walk outside...More
