Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum was a home and formerly a 19th century Greek Orthodox Church. The two-story home is decorated in a typical Turkish fashion with dioramas, including one of a wedding ceremony. The mosaics were created from pebbles collected on a local beach. The Church of Hagios Georgios is one of the few Greek churches in the area.

This nice and very well organized Museum is not known very well in Antalya. So,it needs more public advertisement to attract the people. As it is located in Kaleiçi area of the city, many people can pass through it if it is well promoted. Here, you can also attend to many art festivals and gatherings.Recommended

This is a unique sample for a private enterprise, serving for a social usage. It is in the historically preserved buildings area of Kaleici, center of the old town Antalya, consisting several residencial buildings and garden, walls and streets, preserved and renovated tastefully, unique to their original architectural structures.
It is now used as a Mediterranean Civilizations Research Centre, as well as a small museum, which is meant reflect the interiors and the life in old times in this region but off course way too little is said or done to understand the whole life back in those times.
In fact it is a good example of seeing the interiors of Kaleici houses, in Antalya, which has the most beautiful architectural samples, structures and gardens of Mediterranean life, there are several other buildings that will make it definitely worth visiting. Not to be missed at all when you are in Antalya, the most pleasant area.

The museum is in Old Town Antalya (Kaleiçi), and if you are in the neighborhood, it is worth a visit. The 3TL entrance won't set you back, and the 45-60 minutes spent there will be enjoyable. Entrance into the pebble mosaic'd courtyard of the traditional Antalyan house brings you to a set of stairs that turn and open into a room with photographs of the city in the 1800s. You'll recognize a few of the scenes in them--interesting noting how things are the same, yet different.
There are several vignettes set up showing significant life-event scenes with the mannequins dressed in authentic period clothes. A young boy's circumcision (sünnet party), preparation of a young man and young lady for marriage, and a Turkish çay (tea) party. All beautifully presented.
Exiting the Antalyan home, you traverse a small courtyard and enter into a beautifully renovated Greek Orthodox church that houses an interesting collection of Çanakkale ceramics on the sanctuary floor, and a great little (Temporary) collection of caricature statues of "street vendors" of the 1800s that is in the former choir loft. Entrance to this is via outside circular stairs. Finally, there is a permanent collection of engravings interpreted on large canvases--do not miss this!

This museum in a restored Ottoman house gives an insight into how life was lived in them. There are a series of tableaux in different rooms and good descriptions. The entry ticket is also to St George's Church which has a variety of exhibits.

It is well worth seeking out this museum in the heart of the old town. It is only 3TL and a bargain. It is closed on Wednesdays and for an hour at lunch between 12 & 1. The museum is set across two buildings. One beautifully preserved house contains rooms laid out as they were in the early 20th C, populated with waxworks depicting activities of a typical Anatolian family. One room shows wedding preparations. The adjoining building is the Church of St George, with lots of display cabinets full of glass and vases.

This is a not well-known museum in Kaleiçi district in the centre of Antalya. It is small and you can expect to see some unique pieces here. The entrance fee is just 3 TL.

This is a small little museum right in the middle of Kaleici. I found it really interesting because it focused more on the average Ottoman people rather than royalty. You can see what an Ottoman house looked like. There was an exhibit that had pictures and small sculptures of various workers from the late Ottoman times. I don't remember the exact price but I remember it was very cheap. Great place to stop at while you are in Kaleici.
