Green Canyon
About
This green lake is a stunning reservoir of the Oymapinar Dam, that's surrounded by the gorgeous Taurus Mountains and lush landscapes. It's one of the only few canyons in the country that allows boat tours. Sign up for a boat trip that will take you around this scenic lake, which typically includes hotel pick-ups, lunch, and stops for swimming and fishing. You might even be able to spot a rare brown fish owl if you're lucky. The cool waters make it a great spot to visit in summer—book your tour early to secure a slot during peak season. – Tripadvisor

    It was good experience
Let me start by saying that thanks to the jeep trip I saw the area, many places from different perspectives. Jeep excursion was a hit. The fact is that you have to be careful because it's not very safe and sometimes it bordered on madness. We have to take into account small children, but unfortunately we rely only on the quality of the car and driver. On the same day there was an accident somewhere, people running and even a fatality. Paradoxically, it's great fun, but health & safety is another matter. Later I got on a ship, beautiful views, swimming which was fun. Unfortunately, I had the impression that the operator was rushing the time and everything was too short. At the end, dinner was served, which was a good move because after a few hours everyone was hungry. I think that the best option is a mixed - jeep, boat, dinner. Without it, I'm not sure what I would have done there and Green Canyon was beautiful. The only downside was garbage everywhere in the surrounding villages or on the roads, which didn't look good against the background of such a beautiful area. I recommend it because the fee for such attractions was worth half a day.

Nice boat tour, not for disabled and small children
It was a beautiful trip across the lake with beautiful mountains and 2 swimming stops, lovely fresh water to swim in. Not really accessible for people with walking difficulties. For young children, the tour is probably too boring.

    Wouldn't rush back....
This was very average. In fact a disappointment. Sure, the canyon is nice lovely water and cliffs, but you've seen it for 5 minutes, you've seen it all. No information or amazing facts were forthcoming. Probably because this is in reality a man made reservoir which supplies the dam. The boat was overcrowded too. Food at the restaurant left much to be desired. Fish was fine, chicken wasn't fully cooked. A bit disappointing.

    Wonderful
Absolutely wonderful. Like a movie. Hard to describe as it truly is breathtaking. We can highly recommend this trip to anyone. We enjoyed a swim as well, it was like a bath. Lovely and fresh, the water was so clear. The drive there was a bit hairy in places, close to edge but the view was gorgeous. Take lots of pictures along the way.

Have posted on another thread but decided to dupe here as seems main one.
We paid EUR 110 for two of us for what was advertised by our tour agency rep in our hotel as "4 hour boat trip all inclusive with lunch and fishing, leaving hotel 8.30 returning 17.30". Later discovered that most people on our tour (from different hotels who booked through various agencies) were advertised same, apart from several people who purchased from tour shops outside of their hotels half price, we all ended up on same bus somehow.
Green Canyon itself is very beautiful, but your experience will not differ a lot regardless of who you book through. There is only handful of large double decker catamarans on the lake where tourists from several buses are loaded on together, bar and toilet was there - free soft drinks, alcohol to be paid extra.
Our catamaran trip took only 2 hours. Then everyone was back on a bus to get to "restaurant" for lunch. Two eating places in the middle of nowhere, food most people wouldn't like to touch - flies part of almost every dish. But we were kept near those restaurants for about 1 hour 30 min. Choices were to swim in a very cold water or to try to do some fishing with approx 5 fishing rods available to 5 buses full of tourists.
We got back to our hotel at 15.30 in the end. Everyone from our trip would happily give tips to tour guide for him to return us back to our hotels right after catamaran part.

The place itself I would give 5 stars, it’s absolutely beautiful and would love to go back. We paid around 40 euros each, this included transfers, the boat tours and food & drinks included.

What let this down for us was that the workers on the boat didn’t speak English and we felt it was very focused on the Eastern European guests. There was an announcement made, all guests got off the boat and most tipped the driver. We walked back to our coach, along with 6 other English guests. We then watched all the other passengers get back on the boat and then drive off. Obviously we were confused but our coach driver said this was just for tips and photographs. This meant we then had to stay on the coach in 39 degree heat for over an hour before the other guests returned. Think that as there were so many boats there, a smaller one perhaps could be focused on English speaking guests or have announcements in English.

I just want to start by saying the canyon itself is very beautiful, especially when you get to sail down the large part. That's as good as this review gets, unfortunately.
After being asked to change onto three different mini buses on the way to the canyon, we eventually arrived around 2 hours later. The climb up through the Taurus mountains to the canyon is pretty stomach churning, with, at times, steep drops on one side and very tight hairpin turns.
The boat we sailed on (canyon 5) was a huge double decker set up that easily had over 100 people on board. It was crowded and felt a bit like a cattle market.
The onboard bar was serving soft, cheap drinks from larger bottles, but at least they were free.
We set off to the sound of Turkish dance style music with no information given about the canyon, its history, why the water is the colour it is etc, which would have been good to know about. Then, at one point, the staff thought it would be hilarious to play the opening 'scream' from James Brown's 'I feel good' at full volume and then Gloria Gaynors 'I will survive'. I'm not really sure what that was about?
After travelling one way through the canyon, we stopped at a swimming/fishing platform. There were too many people trying to get off the boat and into the water, so my husband and I didn't bother even getting off the boat. After a very short stop, we then travelled onto the restaurant for lunch.
To get to the restaurant, you had to climb 90 uneven steps and then a further 20 if you wanted to go to the loo. Had we known this, we would not have booked as my husband has mobility issues as a consequence of a life-saving operation last year. If you have respiratory problems, you'll also struggle to climb the steps.
Lunch was a choice of fish, chicken, or meatballs with sides of spaghetti, bulgar and various salad bowls that were not covered, so the flies were having a field day! It was very unappetising, to say the least.
Back on the boat, we then ventured down the large part of the canyon, which was picturesque. On the return journey, the staff started to play the theme from 'Titanic' and proceeded to steer the boat to within a few foot of a rock in the middle of the water turning at the last minute...again I have no idea why.
We then went back up the smaller canyon to another swimming platform where there was already another boat with a large volume of people in the water. Again, we didn't bother getting off. Throughout the boat trip there was also a waft of something stagnant in the air, so I'm kind of glad we didn't venture into the water.
Oh, I forgot to mention there are photographers on board trying to upsell that don't know the meaning of "no, I don't want my photo taking" in the end my husband had to get a bit narcky with them. If you do have your photo taken, be prepared to have to sit/stand there doing the most ridiculous poses!
We sound proper miserable, we aren't, just annoyed that we wasted £80 on the only day trip that we decided to go on as it was advertised as a tranquil, relaxing and gentle boat ride. We booked with Fabltours, Antalya.

We visited Green Canyon on an organised trip from the Granada Luxury in Belek. The coach ride was about 1.5hrs, once we had picked up other guests from the other hotels. Our tour guide was completely fluent in English and was very knowledgeable and engaging during our drive to the Green Canyon. Upon arrival at the car park, we were ushered down to boats, where it all seemed disorganised. Nobody seemed to know which tour party was going on which boat. After some time, we told we were going on the big wooden boat, not one of the catamarans. The boat loaded and we left the jetty. As soon as the boat was running, there was a strong smell of diesel fumes on the lower decks. As we sat on the top deck, it was not too noticeable. Within 30 mins of starting, the toilets were blocked (they were grim to begin with). We were told when we booked that there were showers and changing rooms, not true, there were awful blocked toilets that smelled of p*ss and diesel. Luckily we travelled in swim gear so did not need to change. The boat ride itself was very scenic and enjoyable. The fishing stop was enjoyed by my daughter, but I would love to see evidence of any fish actually caught in the area, as there was absolutely no hint of anybody getting anywhere near a fish on a hook. The biggest disappointment by far was lunch. A grotty buffet served up by a group of fellas (some were smoking) that could not have looked more disinterested. I have never seen pasta served dry before, no sauce to be had. My daughter tried in vain to put ketchup on it, but it was uneatable. The best surprise when going back down to the boat, we saw where the meat had been cooked (see pictures). I would not even cook meat there for my dog, let alone paying customers. Absolutely filthy. The swimming breaks were nice enough and the water was pleasantly warm. After leaving the canyon, we were taken to a shopping 'mall' where our tour guide gave us a big long story about how the goods being sold there were genuine items, that were overs on production runs. Absolute tosh. Everything in the mall was clearly knock off and the only thing we bought was a tube of Pringles (hopefully genuine). It's a shame, as our tour guide lost all the credibility he had gained earlier in the day. Overall it was a nice day out, but the food was absolutely awful and the boat could have been in better repair.

We passed by here as part of a bigger tour package.

The drive up the the lake is very interesting with breathtaking views. We were on a quieter tourist bus but there were some buses who appeared to be having parties. A lot of singing and loud music could be heard as they drove by and the tour drivers would drive at speed performing regular ‘skids’ on the dust. They sure did attract a lot of attention. Initially we thought this was fun but later concluded that it would be a headache being in such company for hours, also, I wondered if they were being given any of the information related to the areas they were passing.

We drove up the mountain and had an opportunity to take photos. As stated earlier, the views are amazing but there is nothing else really to see and do. I understand some tour companies offer a boat ride as well and fishing, we didn’t do any of these activities.

The canyon is jaw dropping and the swimming was amazing. HOWEVER, I wouldn’t do this tour again. We’ve been on other boat trips which were much more interesting. The tour we took included transfer and lunch. Everything was hurry hurry hurry, we were just shuttles from one thing to another and felt like we were an inconvenience. Most of the time we were confused and not sure what happened next. Lunch was adequate at best, and again it was a hurried pick up plate, grab cutlery, have food thrown on plate, sit, eat, get out.
Summarising my experience in four words: confused inconvenience at speed

Not a very enjoyable trip. We have never come back from a trip of any sort so deflated. We wouldn’t recommend this trip at all. It is like you are on a conveyor belt. Buses all following after each other. The same on the boat and the restaurant felt like we were in prison being served up prison food.
Not our kind of day trip.

It was an excellent ship tour in the canyon. We can have 2 swimming pauses. The lunch was delicious. We can make video and nice photos. Tha canyon is marvellous. On the ship there was a photographer, who made nice frame photos from us.
