This has been newly built on the site of the ancient Medina. Unfortunately it it full of the same tourist souvenirs in almost every boutique. There are one or two places selling hand knotted rugs, which are really lovely, but you do have to be strong to resist the pull of the sellers. A real experience - and to be... More

This is a old town medina and are used the whole barter thing going on as frequent trips to turkey over the years but this takes it to another level Really in your face style which frankly put us off lots of bargains and trinkets to be had

This place is a tranquil place to have a cool time. Not sure whether it will be same during peak summer. My sense is that it may be overly packed because of the wonderful holiday atmosphere. 5/5

Lots to do and see with markets , shops , street food and cafés. The place is like a maze and was fun to walk around and haggling trying to get a bargain. It also reminded me of old medinas in Marrakech and Malta. A must do in Hammamet

Great for a good stroll and for staying in (it has a hotel) Great conference center that can hold 1200+ people (been there for international conferences) Very good architecture and setup - friendly staff and shops - excellent security

We took a day trip here and the local stalls set up are impressive. You have I barter but I left that to my boyfriend. The surrounding area is a bit run down but it was nice to see the culture.

It shows you what the country you are visiting is all about. It's a place full of smells, sounds, food and gifts. The best part was haggling with locals to get things for the price you want. A must go for all.

So different than anything we know in North America, I love getting lost in the maze of tini streets and beautiful doors of the Medina (Old City). You can only imagine what is behind those beautiful doors. I do not care much for the shops but if you go there, bargain! You must ! Even if they say fixed price.... More
