Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here on our train journey from Bangkok to Surat Thani (for Krabi/Samut). Although only 3/15 hours of the route was a peaceful tourist free spot and a tour highlight. You can leave your bags at the station and walk or grab a tuk-tuk en route. Be aware the cable car is closed for maintenance middle two weeks of June and you can’t walk up from that side! Had a nice meal by the river at Rabieng Rimnam and then continued by sleeper. (Not many taxis use Grab app)

The main attraction in Phetchaburi. Walk or take a very short cable car ride to the to of this outcrop that overlooks the town and walk around the top on a well laid out pathway. Museum was pretty average but all part of the experience. No monkeys around on the afternoon we visited.

High mountains, beautiful scenery Looking at the city of Phetchaburi around the historical area Because it used to be the residence of the Lord of Siam in the past between Bangkok and Hua Hin There are many people. Many tourists want to experience I propose to be an alternative. For historical tourists Let's st

• It's worth enough to pay a visit! A historical place with breathtaking view! The area of Khao wang is quite wide, yet you able to walk through within few hours (It takes such a long time because the view makes you stand still and forgot to move forward! Hmm, maybe i was a lil bit exaggerate. BUT, trust me! The view is really awesome!).

• There are 2 entrance (at different side) you may go in:
- via cable car (200 baht/person).
- walk ( 150 baht/person).
*If im not mistaken. Kindly google to double confirm the entrance fee. :)

• Get your camera or phone battery fully charged!

•Must bring water along with you! :)

●● Reminder:
1) DO NOT bring any food or flavor drinks with you. Because the monkeys come to you when they see you. (I'm serious! We bought ourselves coffee, the monkey straight away came to us. Then, when we were on our way back (almost reached the entrance/exit), a bunch of monkeys run towards a lil boy, because he has food with him. And he almost attack by the monkey!) !! Also, don't try to chase them away. They ATTACK!

2) Keep your belonging in your bag (free your hand) and keep your bag near to you. You never know if the monkeys grab.

Hope this helps. :), enjoy your trip!

This town is about 90 minutes out of Bangkok by car. Easy to find in the town because it dominates the landscape. I'm comparing this tourist site to other Thai tourist sites and would say its a more authentic, friendly experience than most. It's not packed, it's predominantly full of Thai groups. The staff are very friendly, helpful and a few speak good English. The whole site is effectively strung across a series of hills with a palace/mansion, a stupa, a wat, an observatory etc along the walkway. There's plenty of walking up and downhills involved but its not a hike and is pleasantly shaded by trees with snack stalls along the way. Views are beautiful and panoramic at the hilltops. One thing though which you need to be aware of, the troops of wild monkeys everywhere at this attraction, and to a lesser extent in the town. These monkeys are well aware of what snack food is and how to open soda bottles and crisp packets. They're absolutely brazen thieves, which is frankly encouraged by stalls selling food to give to them. So now you have caffeinated, sugar-rush monkeys. I've been twice to this site and each time seen grown men lose their bags of food to monkeys. Entertaining certainly, as long as its not happening to you. If you are nervous of proximity to wild animals, this place isn't for you. It's covered in signs absolving the management from any liability. I really like this place but you have been warned!

If you are driving down to Prachuap (not sure why it's listed in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province) this is a great place to stop on the way. Phra Nakhon Khiri, also called "Khao Wang" is just along Highway 4 about 1and1/2 to 2 hours south of Bangkok. It's a great place to stretch the legs for an hour or more and check out the beautiful mountain-top palace near the center of Amphur Muang Petchaburi, Petchuburi Province. All-in-all, it's a really nice historical site with beautiful views of the surrounding area that you can spend 1-3 hours at. In April they have an annual celebration that is a huge party all around the base of the mountain and they light it up beautifully. Check it out.

From there, it's about another hour to hour to Hua Hin. If you are heading to Pranburi, Khao Sam Roi Yod, Kui Buri, or Prachuap Khiri Khan town then it is best to take the Hwy. 4 By-Pass and not go into Cha Am and Hua Hin unless you plan to stop in either of those towns.

Seen it from the road many times and decided - got to see it. The weather was a light drizzle.

Hardly anyone here on a Sunday on a long weekend due to the weather. Staff very kind and helpful. Walk up if you want the exercise to take the cable car and relax.

This was a royal residence and it is beautiful and very modest compared to flashy gigantesque places elsewhere.

You should come here if;
- you are in the region
- like to see down to earth and not bling bling
- like walking
- you appreciate local customs and respect it (shoes off and no photos in certain areas, etc)

You should not come here if you;
- want neon and modern things
- don’t like uneven somewhat slippery surfaces when wet

A lot of walking up and down hills - keeps you fit - watch out for the monkeys when going up on the lift - they can attack. Temples on top of hills - great views.
