Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to Kalim beach in evening around 6 pm to watch sunset. It was beautiful. There are street vendors near to Kalim and you can have a snack and sit down to see the views.

Nice because of the rocks, more calm than Patong, but it's very small and close to the big road.....

From the Patong Beach sign at Patong Beach (not the sign on Patong Beach on the Roundabout), it takes 20mins to walk to Kalim beach.
Walk along the beachfront was lovely and pleasant. Away from the shops, restaurants, massage parlours and taxi men, on the opposite side of the road is Loma Park, which not much of a traditional park per se. But, this path is paved and away from the sandy beach. You do have to dodge the bikes though.
The pavement was lined with stalls of food and juice stand.
It was mouth-watering walking through these beachfront stalls.
However, upon reaching Kalim beach which was significantly quieter, it was pleasant.
There was nothing superb here but it was peaceful and much more relaxing. There was no activity here, just a dozen swimmers, bathers and watchers. There was no husslers, walking-vendors or anyone selling anything here. Which meant no deck chairs either.
There was only one restaurant on the edge of the beach and that was enough. There was no cover, so sun-worshippers will love this beach if you prefer quiet and peaceful scenes.
All in all, a nice beach to do safe climbing around the rockery and rock pool when bored with swimming or barging.

this is worth the walk from the main patong beach. quieter with clearer water. enough restaurants, bars and shops and some of the larger hotels to occupy you when not sunbathing.

Great for family with young kids, when we were here the waves were really small. It's just a few feet away from hotels.

No to almost no vendors bothering you while you are relaxing.

There are some rocks but if you go just few hundred feet to the left of the rocks, it's quite nice.

Overall exactly what we were looking for.

Brilliant place to chill after a whole day of traveling. Street food just by the beach. Mats and tables are provided just by the sea wall. How could you not love savoring the freshest grilled seafood and hearing the waves crashing beside you. The cool and fresh breeze make this spot my no 1 go to place for dinner.

20 plus food carts line this street along Kalim Beach. We rode to the location from our Patong hotel and it hardly took 3 minutes. Many locals frequent the place for their evening meals...tho a few foodcarts are open for breakfast too. We enjoyed the rustic alfresco dining style where a few tables and chairs are available for sit in customers and there are also picnic mats laid out by the bay. Great ambience to take in the sunset. Local foods we enjoyed included Beef noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, grilled seafood with thai spices, mango sticky rice, different types of thai salads and fresh fruits galore! The foods are all halal too. We came by to this street food market twice during our 5 day vacation in Phuket. Missing it now!

A beautiful beach and if you like people, busy enough to keep you entertained. There are quite a few restaurants in the vicinity and shopping galore!
