Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s difficult to say much more than this an exceptionally large, old tree. We were in the area so visited but probably not worth coming out here from Kanchanaburi just to see it unless you’re really into very large, very old trees. It’s free to visit and quite nice to wander around but that doesn’t take very long. There are some beautiful temples in the area so this could easily be combined with visiting other things.

We stayed in a resort that was 10 km up the road from this giant tree. As we had some time to kill, we decided to pay this place a visit. Well, what can I say… the tree is giant, it is impressive. Is it a Kanchanaburi must do? Definitely not. If you have time to kill like we do and you happen to be close by, why not pay the place a visit.

I went on a trip to the Giant Chamchuri Tree with my family. There is a fresh atmosphere, a beautiful place, can go and take pictures under the Chamchuri tree. It is a very nice place to visit, clean and good atmosphere.

very nice atmosphere The wind blows very cold, lots of trees, beautiful places. There are many shooting angles. Not many people, a lot of things for sale, easy to travel. There are signs along the way.

Welcome to Kanchanaburi. This is a giant Chamchuri Tree, aged 100 years up. The famous tourist attraction of this city. Nature lovers will be happy. About from the city center 20 km takes about half an hour Don't miss it if you come to Kanchanaburi. Should come to visit

The tree is certainly big and so impressive. It's a nice place to visit, but nothing is really around that tree (and the place is quite far from the city). My advice would be to do the cave and few other cute places on the road to go there, it will be a cool package !!!

Very scenic drive on the way to see the Giant Monkey Pod Tree. Well worth the visit - the size of this baby was incredible.

How to get here from kanchanaburi? Is there a local bus that stops here?
Written 31 May 2019
I would be very surprised if there was any public transport, the area is a bit isolated. I would suggest taxi or a local tuk-tuk is the best way.
However, there is an army base (Royal Thai Calvary) very close to the tree - there is a possibility there might be public transport to the base.
