Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I rarely write NEGATIVE reviews, but this place shouts for one.
It stole the name JEATH from the older and more authentic museum on the other end of town.
It is run by a Japanese consortium that is trying to profit off Japanese brutality.
Enjoy the market are around the Bridge, visit the original JEATH museum and avoid this one!

I agree with a few of the other reviewers. It looks like everything was just thrown in. Nothing followed. It was badly laid out and too much information that didn't make sense! What I did take in was interesting. They just need to tidy it up and make it smaller. Entrance fee is cheap.

When we booked our trip through Kanchanaburi, we knew there was a war museum but didn't really do much research of the bridge or death railway.
The measure was all put together with come really interesting, authentic, original war time relics and military equipment.
I learnt a lot about the war the the impact the war had on the area, specifically the bridge. There were also some great viewing points of the current bridge, plus you could also see the old wooden bride which was used during the construction of the bridge that is there today.

Not as god as the museum opposite the war cemetery. This is an eclectic mix of old photographs ( some very interesting) and bits and pieces from the war eg the cars and guns that the Japanese used. Just about worth the 50 Baht entrance fee.

The museum is right beside the bridge. It was founded by a lady whose old father was conscripted for an army service during the WW2. The museum isn't well managed since it is founded by a single family and has no support from the government. Quite inspiring! The ticket is 40 baht person and 20 baht for kids.

Could have done a better job in the upkeep of the artifacts which is part of history. The museum could be much better designed

This is the most unorganised museum ever whose curator showed no appreciation for history or the men who took part in the making of history

We visited here after the war cemetery , it is a small museum, but it’s easy to spend an hour or more . It retells the horrendous story of the building of the infamous railway , showing the cruelty of the Japanese and complete lack of respect for POWs and native people, the details in the museum of the history is very interesting, and brings home what the men suffered . It’s a must if you’re in the area , a real eye opener , but although it tells of a horrendous period in history , it is still fascinating , and very well set out

I didnt really know much about WW1 and after going to this museum it has helped me to get a better grasp of what happened. It was very interesting and laid out in an easy way to navigate the museum. It was an unexpected surprise since sometimes I think museums are boring.

Took the 2 hour train ride to the museum, very informative with a headset that tells you all about Hell Fire Pass. Allow a few hours to visit this place

Not free, but would not cost very much. Free coffee included in ticket. In contrast to the other reply, we thought it was well worth it!
