This was not the best elephant camp I've visited in Thailand. However, the staff was wonderful. Animals appeared happy. The ride was peaceful and enjoyable.

DO NOT GO THERE!!! Absolute animal abuse and cruelty... Horrible how they treat poor animals, chained and kept on the sun all day with no water or shade... That place should be closed ASAP! 3 hour drive and money for nothing, for leaving the camp depressed... Lost all day on this terri le experience... Repeat: DO NOT GO THERE!

Tuesday 7th March we went on an arranged trip from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi and Erawan, 3 hour drive, taking in the sites, which included a vist here. The first bit of the visit was a bamboo raft trip down the River Kwai, supposed to last 30 minutes, it was all done and dusted in 20 minutes. Firstly our raft was... More

This review is coming almost a year after my trip to Thailand, but it left such an impact on me that it's been on my to-do all this while. I had booked a tour with a friend that included a trip to the Wangpo Elephant Camp. We knew that it was not an Elephant Sanctuary, but we had no idea... More

Really had a blast. The visit was organized by the "Tour with Tong" guys, and we spent the day with Full Moon... First we fed her, then we rode her and finally we bathe her on the river. Might feel a bit guilty today, when I know more stuff about animal cruelty... But besides Full Moon having a chain in... More

Not really the high end elephant park, i expect the ride would be across the jungle but it was just around the bush, Bathing with the elephant was very short and the animal doesn't really enjoy the water. Our elephant keep on stopping and picking up leaves, showing it was hungry? And after the ride a noticed a wound on... More

I was backpacking for 6 weeks in South-East Asia and this has been my worst visit. I regretted it so much. I am not so sure about the suffering of elephants since I am not an expert. However, I did not see any loving elephant staff in that camp. In fact, I barely saw adults. What I was most disgusted... More

For this activities, I think it's quite hard to review because some of you might think it torture animals but some of you might not. As I'm Thai and I know the history of Thai elephants, Thai elephants in the past, they had a duty to pull many logs. In addition, Thai elephants were a vehicle for Kings! They can... More
