Calling this a night market is a misnomer as it seems to be open day and night. The place is a true local market. Aside from the food stalls, most of the shops/stalls sell clothing and shoes, although there’s also some selling everyday items and toys. I really came for the food. The place is a true foodie heaven. In my humble opinion, the food stalls here are superior to the ones in Bangkok and the prices are much lower too. I ate here for 3 nights, so even a vegetarian will have no problem finding suitable food. A vegan will have problems though.

If you’re staying in Kanchanaburi, this is the place to eat! The market is absolutely bustling all the time, it’s not aimed at tourists so all the food etc you get is high quality and super cheap. There is array of food offerings, selling some “delicacies” but even for the fussiest of eaters there’s plenty of choice. At the far right corner (as if you’re looking from the main road, and at the opposite end of the row from the massages) you will find some bars that sell food drink, directly opposite behind one of the stalls there is some concrete seats. We are our food there as we were a bit of a distance from our hotel.

This area is part of a night market full of local food. and traditional food that tourists should not miss! Kanchanaburi is known as 'Turung', meaning all night until morning. Kanchanaburi people love to buy food. and staff here Selling at local prices... and full of Kanchanaburi local life! Cheap prices and service with a smile.

There are 2 and sometimes 3 night markets in Kanchanaburi. One is next to the bridge over the river kwai, another one next to Kanchanaburi railway station called JJ Market and another one in the center.
All have a great variety of snacks, food and drinks along with all kind of clothes, bags and other handy things to buy.
This is basically the only thing you can do in Kanchanaburi during the evenings since a lot of the restaurants and drinking places are out of business as a consequence of the COVID crisis.
The people are super nice and very helpful.
There are multiple temperature checks and hand sanitizers is everywhere available so you can safely walk around.

Its maianly clothes for the ladies and food and some places for food are not there every night, if you like pork or chicken steak ( not Weds) head up next to the main road there is an OPPO shop and a YAMAHA shop between these is a great place for steaks, no beers though but the prices are tip top and start at 59bts for chicken steak, chips and salad.
There are sveral noodles bars and eat as you walk stalls, its well worth a trip and the stalls change a little throughout the week so everynight is slightly different, its in the NW corner from the Railway station.

It's a market and it's dark! It must be a night Market!! Average but then I think all markets are average! Mostly clothes and some food stalls where they have a two tier price scale! It is incumbent upon one to visit these local markets even if it is just to say I went there!

Daily afternoon and evening market next to train station. Quite small with mainly food and clothes on offer. Selection and variety is not that great compared to other similar
Venues around the country. Prices are low and very good indeed. Not the best one, yet worth a visit.

If you're looking for elephant pants and tourist trinkets, forget it. This is a proper local night market, geared towards local Thais. The food on offer is varied and all delicious. Every time I come to Kanchanaburi, and I've been coming for nine years now without fail, I will always come here for some grub. I'll let the attached photos do the talking for me, but suffice it to say, it's all wonderful. Even with the amount I will end up eating, I rarely break the bank - three or four stalls' worth of items generally come to 100-120 baht. Cheap, delicious, and cheerful!

This market is principally for locals. Tourists are catered for, but there are very few souvenir and no handicraft stalls. The food sections are varied and plentiful, but it's all takeaway; hardly any seating. It is an authentic Thai night market, bustling and lively.
