We stopped into the railway centre to break our walk around Kanchanaburi town. It was a lovely museum, well laid out, easy to follow and with a wealth of information. It was quite haunting and moving and well worth a visit

We came here having already visited all the sites about the building of the railroad. I wish we had come here first as the info is nicely presented and the video room informative. Our problem was that we already knew everything presented. I would suggest you come here first so as to be well informed when you visit the rest... More

We visited this museum during a 2 day stay in Kanchanaburi, and it was a highlight. Lots of information, thoughtfully laid out in an easy to follow format with English throughout. We really learned much about the events leading up to the building of the railroad, the railroad itself, and the lives and sacrifices of the people who were forced to... More

Museum is very informative, professional and well presented. I think its run by the Australians. There are a couple of other war museums in the town but this is the only one we thought was of a professional standard (would also recommend the museum at Hellfire Pass if you have time to get there). There is also a cafe and... More

An informative, though provoking museum. Well laid out with easily accessible information. Well worth combining with a visit to the bridge and if possible the railway & hellfire pass (easily done with public transport).

The team that work there are so helpful and knowledgeable, they even helped us find even more information about a family member, nothing was to much trouble. They also have disabled facilities.

A small but well structured and very informative museum. Photograph not allowed. Free tea and coffee voucher given on admission. We came here as part of the kanchanaburi tour with war cemetery and railway tour, so was only given 40mins to spend here. It was not enough, we would've easily spent 1.5hrs there reading through everything and watching the videos.... More

We came here as part of our tour and had plenty of time to walk around and read all the information and look at the arrivals. I found it very informative and moving the videos were very interesting and it is hard not getting emotional seeing what these people went through. Facilities in the museum were very good and the... This was a very informative place and you realised what the people went through. Very harrowing. Makes you feel sad.
