- j n340 contributionsNice relaxing place to spend a few days. Be wary of sharp rocks!I spent a few days here not having anything planned, just went to the beach and got drunk a lot and went for a swim and enjoyed being near the water. There is plenty of available space so crowds were not an issue even on weekends. It's a nice clean beach, vast and open. You can sit by the main beach and have a drink and a meal or walk around to find some more remote parts to enjoy. One thing that has already been pointed out in the reviews are the number of large, sharp rocks when you try to go for a swim in waters around chest height (during high tide). They will cut and shred your feet and hands as they did mine, severely impacting my mobility in the succeeding days. Otherwise, it's a nice place to spend a day or two and not too far from Bangkok.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 3 November 2023
- Jay 林Singapore, Singapore375 contributionsHua Hin Beach DayWent for a walk early in the morning and it was pretty quiet which is great for me to enjoy before the crowds started to appear. There are lots of stalls selling beach gear as you walk towards the beach, even rentals for motorcycle and cars. The beach is clean and the water as well. It is one of those beach that are not over clustered with beach chair. There are a few rocks jutting out by the edge of the shore for some great photograph. And, it was just walking distance to town and a nearby Chinese temple. If you don't like crowds, morning is the best time to go.Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 7 March 2024
- TheShisTel Aviv, Israel43,215 contributionsA lovely long beach. This is a lovely long and clean beach. We enjoyed it at several points, either for a stroll in the late afternoon or a dip in the clean water. Mind you - if you come in low tide, you need to go VERY far in in order for the water to reach a satisfying depth.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 June 2024
- Karin KBangkok, Thailand1 contributionHua Hin Hua JaiHua Hin Sea is in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It is a very beautiful sea, famous and popular with many people. Can come easily Either car or train. The activity we do is lie down and look at the view. The area is very peaceful. Play in the water normally, the water is quite clean. Eating seafood is worthwhile because of its freshness. And it's worth the view. We went to eat at a nearby restaurant with good service. The food was delicious. The massage shop provided very good service. In conclusion, I personally like it a lot. The weather is nice and fresh, taking beautiful photos. Advice: If you don't want to spend money sitting at a table, you can bring a mat.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 July 2024

Me and wife spent 5 nights in Hua Hin and we loved everything about it - the hotel (@Grand Centara), the beach, the relaxed pace of the city and the food.
Had been to Thailand several times before and we always coupled Phuket with Bangkok. Upon recommendation of my friend who lived in Bangkok for his job recommended Hua Hin before COVID-19. So this time we spent 5 nights in Hua Hin and 2 in Bangkok.
This review is not particularly about the beach but the town itself including the beach. Grand Centara is right at the beach so it was very convenient to hop between pool and beach. Beach was clean, but the patch in front of Grand Centara is a bit rocky. Public entry to the beach is betwwen Centara Grand and Hilton, so it was a bit busier for our liking; we prefer less busier ones. so, we would walk along the shore up and down, take few dips here and there and then hit the pool and pool bed in our hotel. in summary, we spent more time by the pool. However, a trip to public beach and adjacent shopping strip for a quick snack/drink was convenient though.
we loved Hua Hin for its relaxed pace and proximity to Bangkok. Tamarind market and night market are must visit. Loved the food, drinks and ambiance there. K.O. restaurant is recommended for grilled seafood.
Public taxi is very convenient and charges 10bht per person per ride and runs till 11pm. same trip via tuk tuk would cost 150 bht one way.
We will be returning to Hua Hin definiely.

Let’s be honest, folks don’t visit Huahin for its beach, it’s pretty much undeveloped (apart from stretches next to high end resorts and hotels). There are no facilities to accommodate day visitors, instead stray dogs rule here. As pretty as it may be, there is no reason to spend too much time here, unless going for a day pass is fee beach clubs attached to hotels.

Fantastic city beach that stretches all the way along with Hua Hin city.
If you go direct to the right after coming down at the Beach (beside Hilton Hotel) you will after about 200m find a good beach restaurant where you if you want can sit all the way out into the water and have a meal and a beer. Moderate pricing.
Notice though that on all Wednesdays the bars and restaurants as well as beach chair rentals are closed and the beach is cleaned and maintained.

Much nicer than Cha Am beach. Plenty of activities including horse riding at 400 baht per 30 mins. In my daughters legs rubbed in the plastic saddle protector and she ended up with severe cuts. Restaurants on the beach serving great Thai/Sea food very reasonably priced. We were lucky to spend New Year’s Eve there also, amazing fireworks and great atmosphere.

Hua Hin is a great location. Bangkok Cab provided excellent service. Picked us up on time and the driver did his best to save time in very heavy traffic. Car was very clean and comfortable.

In 2022 I spent 2 months in Thailand, March-May with 24 nights in Hua Hin. Of the 24 nights I walked Hua Hin beach 20 mornings after breakfast. The beach is one of the longest stretches of beautiful beaches I’ve seen in my travels. With covid still visible in the rear view mirror, the beach was sparse with tourists which was great for me. On Sunday’s there is giant kite instruction and several in the air. Daily there is rentals of beach wind carts, jet skis and horseback rides. The water was warm but cool enough to get relief from the extremely hot Thai sun. For me this is some of the most enjoyable and affordable forms of exercise in Thailand. Highly recommend.

Hua Hin is the original beach destination in Thailand but had become somewhat shabby and dirty over the decades. In recent years, locals have done a better job of cleaning up the beach and regulating vendors. Even the horses that ply the beach with their handlers, looking for riders, are now cleaner and better-looking. The water is still not pristine by any means (be careful with jellyfish!), but most of the beach is now quite nice for morning or late afternoon strolls.

Hua Hin is definitely one of the quieter places, if you're looking for pure action and entertainment you're better off in Phuket, Kao Lak etc. If you, like us, just want to chill out in a great hotel, walk to a market and look at a few things, this is the place for you. The beach is VERY clean, quiet and without vendors / beggars / X-bars etc. Also a rarity, enjoy it while it's still there... We enjoyed the long walks on the beach, splashing in the warm water and the blue sky. But beware: it doesn't always have to be so idyllic. Depending on the weather, the sea can be rough and the water can be grey instead of blue. Depending on the current. It depends on the time of year and current and certainly a little on luck how the sea and thus the beach presents itself. We were lucky for the whole 10 days and had perfect weather with perfect sea.
PS: You can also go horse riding on the beach; 20 minutes costs 400 Baht, 30 minutes costs 500 Baht. The horses appear to be very well cared for and are very well behaved. Some stable horses in Switzerland are worse off. Despite the romance of the beach, the animals are there to earn money. Unfortunately, the horses are rented out to ALL tourists, who sometimes treat the animals very roughly. Each horse has a handler who is very proud of his animal and looks after it. For example, Dollar(r) No. 55 has such a close relationship with his handler, he runs after him without a rope, and the handler cuddles and combs the horse, really cute. So please be kind to the horses and don't negotiate the prices. Maybe there are even riders who read the reviews and want to donate old horse things. I think the handler has to buy the things themselves, some bridles are rusty... So if a rider still has a place in their suitcase and old riding equipment, the horses have to work there anyway, but maybe then at least "rust-free" and/or more comfortable. Oh and wear long pants for trotting / galloping, otherwise your legs will be open ;)

Go to the beach with friends It's a very good time to relax, listen to the sound of the sea waves at the beach in the morning, the beach is very beautiful, makes you feel relaxed. Me and my friends were taking pictures like crazy. Pictures taken by me and my friends Post it on social media until the end of the year. Because there are a lot of beautiful corners to take photos here, the sky, the beach, the sea, it's really good. I hope I can visit this place again.

Amazing beach spoilt for swimming by the huge increase of kite surfers.
It was every afternoon when the wind picked up that the dozens of kite surfers swarmed the sea shore from The Marriott Hotel towards the Market Village area & beyond.
The experienced surfers often showing off slicing through the waves at great speed dangerously close to swimmers whilst the learners loosing control would drop their huge kites anywhere!!!… it was a miracle no one was injured whilst we were there so I would say with certainty someone will get hurt if this continues.
We love this area & have returned for the fourth time but for swimming in the sea after mid day it’s been spoilt.

Hi I will be in Hua Hin end december 2022. I am staying at Putahracsa Hua Hin but there is no beach there. In your review do I need to first go into the Hilton Complex and enter the beach from the hotel or is there a separate entrance from the street. Thanks. Your photos are lovely too.

We found Hua Hin quite clean. There is a huge fine for littering on the beach. I think it depends on what part you are in. We walked Hua Hin beach for quite a distance and did not see much rubbish at all.

Hi, I'm a Thailand addict and looking for the next fix. 2020, despite my best intentions to go somewhere else, is looking very much like Thailand again and trying to find new places. We are not beach people and tend to stay more to the north, but this time would like to put in a beach area, but one that's got a bit of everything not just sand and sea. Hua Hin looks like it might tick all the boxes but as you've been there, I would like to ask for first hand experience - are there places that we can get tranquility as well as vibrant areas? Your tips would be appreciated!

Good morning Julie,
I agree with Joe S' answer, and would add that there are plenty of places to walk and hike, to shop, visit and explore. We have a strict family policy on animal "shows" that tend more to be cruelty (my opinion), but found a wonderful experience at a elephant hospital/rescue center - Recommended.
Happy vacation to you.

Hi, what would you like to know about this attraction? Which beach have horse riding?
Written 20 April 2019
Most of the beaches offer pony (not horse riding) however being a horse owner myself in the UK I felt that the ponies were far too small for the tourists they were carrying and it was way too hot to be catering up and down a beach so we declined.
