Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Clock Tower is so iconic that it is useful as a landmark for navigation when walking to and fro eateries or attractions. There is a free 5min light and sound show every night at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm, though honestly it is rather underwhelming as it simply involves cycling through several colours without special effects synchronised with the music. You can probably pop by before or after a visit to the night market, or watch the show while having a meal in a nearby eatery, but otherwise the show is not so spectacular that you have to make a special visit.

Visited this area for an evening meal.
During the day the clock tower is just another roundabout.
But overnight an hourly display sees the tower bathed in changing colours, worth waiting to see.

A beautiful clock tower in the centre of Chiang Rai. It is pretty and bright when the light reflects off the gold surface.
At 7pm, 8pm and 9pm is a small light show to music which was quite cool.
If you are in the area - worth a watch or a visit

This super clock tower will not go unnoticed. Massive golden full of lights clock tower and beautiful at the same time.
Marks the center of the city and they have a short light and sound (so to speak) in the evenings. But due to the small size of Chiang Rai, why not! spend a few minutes there and take some photos. Nobody knows or seems to know that was designed by Achan Chalermchai Kositpipat, who also built the White temple, indeed this is one of the most beautiful clock towers in Thailand that was built in 2005 to honour Her Majesty Queen Sirikit.

We were told by our hotel that one of the sights of Chiang Rai was the light display at the clock tower. We went there for the 9pm show. The clock tower is quite inticrate and situated in the middle of a fairly busy road junction in the centre of Chiang Rai. At 9pm a show starts where the tower is lit up continually changing colours. Coach loads of tourists go there to see the spectacle. I have to see that it was pretty underwhelming - an artificially manufactured event to attract people to the area.

I went by here afew times in Chiang Rai. It's a lovely old golden clock tower that looks cool in the day and night. New years eve was especially cool hanging around here with live music etc.

This is the most beautiful clock tower I've ever seen. Painted in gold, the tower has all the architectural elements you'd find in a traditional Thai Buddhist temple. There's a light and sound performance three times per day at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm, and goes on for about 10 minutes. Not to be missed when in the city.

Wasn't really a significant point of interest I'd say. It's located in the middle of a busy cross road junction, good to just snap a photo of it. Otherwise, it just looks pretty much like another tall tower in the day.

When in Chiang Rai, you are sure to come at the Clock Tower which is located at the center of the city. There is nothing much to see here except a music & light show in the evening. But there are a lot of things to do around the tower.

Sitting in the middle of a busy intersection, there is light show here every night at 7, 8 and 9PM. We went to see it...
... and were underwhelmed. We have seen lots of light shows around the world, including in Singapore last week. This was a pretty large let-down...
