About
This is one of Thailand's most popular parks for foreign visitors but at the same time is unspoiled and uncrowded. The national park is home to a number of eco-resorts offering room, food, and tours. The park is includes a large rainforest and exception steep limestone mountains. There are also rivers and waterfalls. Tours include jungle treks, elephant experience, kayaking and tubing on the river. The most popular tour in the area is to the Rajaprapa reservoir, also known as Khao Sok Lake. Here guests can sleep on rafthouses at the edge of the jungle and enjoy kayaking, birdwatching, and hiking in pristine forest. Day trips are also available. In addition to observing numerous tropical birds including majestic hornbills, Asian buffalo and elephants are often seen, and tapirs and other jungle animals more rarely. The area can be reached easily from airports in Phuket (2 hours away) and Surathani airport (1.5 hours away).

We visited the park yesterday without any Tourguides.

The first thing we want to see was the jungle so we went to the HQ and bought some tickets there. The staff was very unfriendly! I never had such a bad habit in Thailand!

The jungle tour itself was ok - if you had ever been to a jungle it’s nothing special.

The second thing was the boat tour - that part of the tour was amazing! Nice views and it was amazing to relax on the boat with some wind!

Fantastic place! Spent two days at the park taking the boat tour, hiking in the park and then bamboo rafts to the beautiful caverns. The people were all very friendly, helpful and did a great job making it a wonderful experience.

From Bangkok we flew to Surat Thani and drove about an hour to the booking agency office. We booked a 2 day group tour with Khao Sok Lake Tours which was awesome! If you need to travel to and from the airports they’ll arrange the rides and include it in the total. Including an hour trip from Surat Thani and then being dropped off two hours away in Phuket with our stay for two it was around 320 USD. With our payment we received our meals (practically all you can eat) and transport/lodging as well as the daily group tours. The rooms are simple but sufficient to enjoy the overall experience. This bundled package gave us the opportunity to enjoy our time since there were no additional costs. Depending on the season they will take you on different tours as well as evening and morning boat safaris. If you get to partake in the water cave tour like us you’ll be in for a strenuous yet incredibly unique experience. The staff was great and very knowledgeable and always made sure we were attended to. They even offer rentals of some equipment such as shoes, dry bags, and headlamps to ensure we were safe during our tours. This is run by locals and truly is an authentic experience. We will definitely be back here again and hopefully for multiple nights next time!

This was the best part of my entire trip around Thailand. I did two day trek into the park and my god what an experience. The lack of electricity, the floating huts and the promising of the wildlife. This is a must see to anyone visit the region.

We (12) visited Khao Sok National Park in mid March. We (5) played golf at Ratchaprapha Golf Course in the morning. The golf course is beautiful and challenging. The green is difficult. Seven members of our group went to the Cheow LAN lake for a boat tour. In the late afternoon. We all did Bamboo Draft on the creek. We stayed at Khao Sok Paradise Resort.
Ratchaprapha Golf Course is 5 star.
Bamboo Draft is 4 start.
Khao Sok Paradise Resort 3 star.

Did not stay at the park but did a boat ride around. It looks very amazing and beautiful, the super tall cliff around the lake.

Great experience, beautifully warm turquoise waters and amazing wildlife through the jungle and into the caves. Our hostel manager sunny at jungle hut hostel sorted everything for us and even gave us all the equipment we needed from water shoes to waterproof bags and head torch, our tour companions were very jealous and a few very underprepared. Only down side was we didnt stay longer on the floating bungalow but it was great non the less.

We loved our 3D, 2N excursion to Khao Sok National Park. One night in floating cottages (on Cheow Lan Lake) was great. The cottages could have been a little nicer and food and bathroom facilities a little better, but overall it was fine. They took us on a guided hike in the afternoon and a animal safari early AM. We didn't really see any animals, but that is not in anybody's control. Tour operators were friendly and helpful. Scenery in the lake is just amazing.

I've given this review 5 stars because the national park, including Cheow Lan Lake is incredible and has amazing scenery.

However I'd skip the Ton Kloi waterfall trek, it's a full on trek through constant humidity for very little reward.

If you do decide to do it then use Maps.me or get a guide, but I'd wager payinng 600thb to be put through the physical challenge would make it even worse than doing it for free. The trail is tricky though, so definitely you will need maps.me.
