We "walked on our dreams" thanks to Majestic Kilimanjaro! We are speechless! There are not enough words to express how amazing this company is and how grateful we are for the realisation of the dream of climbing Kilimanjaro. From the start to the end of our time in Tanzania, the Majestic team was absolutely perfect. It excedeed our expectations on every level! We contacted Majestic two weeks before our trip , it was quite a last minute decision so time wasn't on our side and Steve, our first contact, gave us all the information required and put us in Tumaini's hands, who we cannot thank enough for what he did for us. He was always extremely clear and efficient regarding all the practical information and helped us decide on the best trek in terms of acclimatisation and scenery, the equipment necessary for the hike and also understanding and sorting out issues with the COVID retrictions (test on arrival at the airport from UK) and visa requirement (online visa application). He picked us up at the airport, drove us to our fantastic hotel and organised our meeting with the chief guide Kefas. The day before our trek , we met with Kefas, our chief guide, who explained the route (we planned the Lemosho Route - 7 days with a visit to the glacier camp), checked our gear and answered all our questions. Our gut feeling when we first met Kefas was that we were in amazing hands, we aleready felt safe and very excited at the same time. He made very clear that our safety was the most important thing followed by our goal of reaching the summit. The day after, we were heading off to the starting point (Lemosho gate) with the whole team (a team of 13 incredible porters/trek staff) and from there, things were just getting better and better. Kefas and Ayub, junior guide, walked with us at all time, telling us about the volcano (vegetation, fauna, weather, surrounding areas, past, present and future of mount Kilimanjaro) and carefully looking after us (checking if we were drinking enough, eating well, feeling well and having a good sleep and also checking our oxygen levels) and of course having a laugh with us. On the third day of the hike above 4000 metres (Moir Hut camp) we had altitude sickness symptoms and Kefas took care of us very very seriously and professionally suggesting we take Diamox to prevent any serious complications. From that moment our level of trust stepped to the next level. We have never felt this kind of connection and support from an alpine guide before. No one in multiple mountain trips in Europe, in the Himalaya and in the Andes has ever been so good in making us feel extremely safe. With his calm attitude and incredible experience transmitted to us the extra positive energy we needed to achieve the summit. To be completely honest, we couldn't have been in better hands. In our view if you want to be sure to be with the best men on the moutain ask to be guided by Kefas with the help of Ayub. As soon as we reached a new campsite every day, our Majestic team that walked a lot faster than us took care of everything. On our arrival our tents (which came with an incredible and super comfortable mattress), private camp bathroom, our bags, tea and popcorn were there waiting for us. The chef was running a 5 star restaurant with amazing fresh and healthy ingredients (first class tropical fruit salads, vegetable soups, kebab skewers and a lot more) with the help of his kitchen assistants and the lovely perfectionist waiter Jojo. Gaining alitude can be associated with nausea and lack of appetite but it is fundamental to eat to have the energy to achieve the summit and our master chef adjusted the menu to help our appetite when we were not feeling 100% . The summit night we set off at midnight from Barafu camp and, despite the super excitement, the cold and lack of energy wasn`t easy to deal with. The core of our super team : Kefas, Ayub, Jojo and Swebet were there to make our dream true: smiles on their face, encouraging words and a magic Mary poppins bag full of energy drinks and snacks as well as extra layers to fight the cold (-20!!!!! Make sure you have the right kit!) made it possible. The whole team was happy to hear we made the summit and even the hike to the crater camp (no one else did it on that day and it was absolutely an amazing experience with incredible views if you have the energy to do it!!). When we reached the base camp again around 10 am, the rest of the team welcomed us with warm hugs, high five's and wide smiles. We felt like a family. Every single day towards our Dream was spotless. The whole team made the experience unique and precious and something that we will never forget. If you are wondering if this is the company to go with, without doubt we would say YES! Stop searching and comparing with other company! This is the best! Professionalism, knowledge, safety, heart, character and good fun in large quantities in every single person employed by Majestic Kilimanjaro. We would have never reached the summit if it wasn't for the whole Majestic Kilimanjaro team! One last comment we`d like to add and it is one of the reasons we initially chose Majestic is that this company is local and it is partner of KPAP (Kilimanjaro porters assistance project) that make sure the porters are respected and treated fairly. Steve and Liana the australian partners take no income from the buisness and all their share of profits go to community projects in Tanzania. Kefas and Ayub told us many times that they felt valued and supported by the company also financially during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you climb Kili with Majestic we have no doubts you will have a unique incredible experience ! Alessia and Paula

Dear AllessiaP1129 (Sorry, Tripadvisor won't let me use your real name), Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We love to read the detail of your experience and we know that writing a review like this does take quite a bit of time - we really appreciate it!! The way you described - "We have never felt this kind of connection and support from an alpine guide before..." was exactly the same way Steve and I (Liana) felt when we first climbed with Tumaini. Tumaini inspired us to create Majestic Kilimanjaro together to give him the opportunity he deserved and create great employment and good conditions for others. Reading your review, reminds me that we made the right decision nearly 10 years ago! We are so glad we were able to make your dream come true, and we are very grateful you chose Majestic Kilimanjaro. We wish you both all the best for your future adventures. Regards, Liana on behalf of the Majestic Team

We did the 7-day Machame Route and a 6-day safari with Majestic Kilimanjaro and both were absolutely incredible experiences. One thing I love about Majestic Kilimanjaro is that they are a local company that gives back to the local community and treats their porters and guides very well, and they are also incredibly professional and well run. Cannot recommend Majestic Kilimanjaro highly enough! For Kili, our entire trek team took great care of us and was a joy to be around. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip and a successful summit (which we did). The food was delicious, and they accommodated our vegetarian diet no problem. We couldn’t have asked for better guides. They were not only super experienced and knowledgeable about anything and everything related to the trek and the mountain, but also had incredibly friendly and enjoyable personalities. For safari, our guide was fantastic and made sure we had the exact experience we wanted. We saw SO much, and it was clear a big part of our success in sightings was due to his experience understanding where to go and when. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about all of the wildlife we saw, which is key to appreciating the safari experience. The places we stayed throughout are safari were incredible. I couldn’t have imagined better, more unique lodging choices. As with Kili, the food served was wonderful the entire time. If you are considering either trekking Kilimanjaro or safari with Majestic Kilimanjaro, trust me you won’t regret booking with them and will be hard up to find another experience as good!

Majestic Kilimanjaro were awesome. They took care of everything for our climb of Kilimanjaro. The welcome at the airport and the hotel were super. The team of guides, porters and cook were wonderful. Couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommend using Majestic Kilimanjaro to organise a climb up Kilimanjaro (and they organised a superb safari for us as well).

We had excellent experience with Majestic Kilimanjaro, successfully hiking the summit of Kili. Service provided over performed any our expectations. Professional guides Kefas, Leo and Ibrahim and their team of porters made it unique. It was fantastic 8 days, lot of fun, talks and hard work... :-). We recommend to come as soon as possible, when the mountain is less crowded. Vlado and Oli

I don’t even know where to begin. My husband and I have been on multiple treks throughout the World, but no other company has ever compared to all that Majestic Kilimanjaro provides. From the very start Tumaini, the managing director was always so responsive to all of my emails, and would always be available to answer any questions I had. He was especially helpful in helping to navigate the Covid and visa requirements for Tanzania. In addition, he gave us detailed pre-trip information such as a packing list, advise on how to train for the climb, the climb itinerary with distances and elevation gain each day, safari itinerary, etc. Tumaini even came to meet with us at the lodge we were staying in to introduce himself and answer any other questions we may had. On our trip, my husband and I did a 7-day climb via the Northern Circuit and then a 4-day, 3-night safari tour. Both of these experiences were simply unforgettable experiences, all thanks to Majestic Kilimanjaro. For our climb, our lead guide Deo came the afternoon before to introduce himself and give us a briefing on what to expect for the upcoming 7 days, he also went over the gear checklist to make sure that we had the proper equipment for a successful trek. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the mountain and we knew that we were going to be in good hands. Our climbing guides Deo and Frank were extremely experienced in climbing the mountain and it showed. They would teach is about the history of the mountain, plants, animals, etc. They’d sing songs and crack jokes to make the hikes an even more enjoyable experience. They also set a great pace for us and made sure we were adjusting well to the altitude with acclimatization hikes, making sure we stayed hydrated, as well as monitoring our oxygen levels. After each hike, the crew would already have our entire camp set up for us. We would have hot water available for washing at the end of each hike as well before our amazing waiter, George (yes, we even had a waiter) came to get us for our afternoon snack and tea. Every day we were fed the most incredible food by our chef Nick. From fresh fruits and veggies, delicious soups with every meal, to fish and chips, and even pizza; the food exceeded our expectations! In total we had 14 porters and guides for just my husband and I, and because of each and every one of them, we were able summit on September 30th at 6:30am. The entire staff was so incredibly kind, thoughtful, funny, and hands down and the hardest working people I’ve ever met. Thank you so much Deo, Frank, Nick, George, Baraka, Ismael, Willie, August, Emanuel, Baraka, Laurent, Kanaeli, Dikson, and Emanuel; we couldn’t have done it without you guys. For safari, our guide/driver, Joseph came to meet us the evening before we were to leave to brief us on our trip. He was very friendly and professional. He gave us an overview of what our safari would be like, he asked what our hopes were with this safari with regards to what animals we hoped to see. From the very start of our safari, it was clear how much Joseph loved what he did and how knowledgeable he was about the animals as well as the different parks. On our safari we visited the Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater. We also had Tumaini arrange for us to visit a Maasai Tribe. Each park was so unique, with different landscapes, vegetation, and animals. Joseph knew which animals we were more likely to see in each park, and was very familiar with the different areas of each park to focus on. We were able to have such close encounters which such beautiful animals in their natural habitat, which would not have been possible if it wasn’t for Joseph’s knowledge, patience, and persistence. In addition, our accommodations during the safari were truly top notch. We stayed 2 nights at a 5 star Retreat and one night in tented cabins in the middle of the Serengeti where we could hear the wildlife right outside of our tent. One of my most favorite experiences with Joseph, was seeing the sunrise over the Serengeti; it was truly magical. I had also mentioned to Joseph how much I loved the Lion King, so he played Lion King songs for me. We could not have imagined a better safari experience. If our experience alone isn’t enough to convince you to book with Majestic Kilimanjaro, then also consider what they do to give back to both their employees as well as the community. First off, Majestic is KPAP certified, which helps to ensure good wages, and makes sure that they treat their porters well. In addition, Majestic offers free English lessons for the porters, classes to help porters become guides or chefs. In the middle of Covid last year, when there were no treks, Majestic was one of only 15 companies that supported the Leave No Trace initiative. Majestic paid the porters to go up Kili to help clean up the mountain when there was no work for the porters. Majestic gives 50% of their proceeds to the Maisha Bora Foundation that help with community projects, scholarships for porters, learning center for adults, and an orphanage. They are truly committed to giving back. I seriously cannot thank Majestic Kilimanjaro enough for making my lifelong dream come true; you’ve exceeded our expectations every step of the way. You truly cared about creating an unforgettable experience for my husband and I.
