Majestic made me feel comfortable and safe from arrival to descent. Tumaini organizes all details of your trip and is alway available for questions before, during, and after.
I had an absolute amazing trip. They always pick you up on time and all of their vehicles feel safe and comfortable. I saw many other tour companies and even went on day tours on my down time after my climb and it is hard to find another tour group that makes you feel like you’re in goods hands from start to finish.
As for the climb Kefas my guide and Eyubu the assistant guide took care of our group very well. Kefas was available day and night for any questions, concerns, motivational speeches or advise you needed during the climb. He is so knowledgeable and amazing with guiding people up the mountain. Eyubu kept us entertained with facts about the mountain, animals and vegetation. You always felt safe and confident that you would make the top with these two guiding your trip. Any concern we may have had, Kefas was able to answer and walk us through what we needed to do to make us feel secure and confident that there is nothing to worry about or that he would take an extra precaution if you needed it to feel safe.
If you want to feel personally taken care of the entire trip, I would not advise using another service.
Asante Sana Majestic!!!

I can’t say enough good things about majestic Kilimanjaro and how they set up this climb. On the way down after summiting I was trying to think of how I can recommend them to as many people as possible, and unfortunately a 5 star review is the best I can do. Everyone was so nice, friendly, responsive, prepared, and timely. I like camping, but after having Timoth come wake me up with hot coffee every morning and our chef James cook full feasts for every meal I’m afraid I can’t go back to what I used to do. And when I say feasts, imagine being served a pizza at 13,000 feet and 10 miles into the hike. On top of that, add fresh fruit, tea, popcorn, and battered, fried bananas. This is the first time I’ve ever gained weight on a multi day hike. Multiple times there were other groups, and I’m guessing ones on more expensive trips than ours, passed us as we ate our snacks at a set table on the trail, they asked if they could trade places with us.
Additionally, our lead guide Leo and assistant lead guide Naiman were exactly who we wanted for this trip. The duo set a great pace, pointed out plants, animals and rocks of interest, and answered all of my hundreds of questions with the answers I was looking for. Naiman was not only friendly to us, but clearly cared for other groups on the trail, congratulating them on the summit, and saying hi to other friends he’s worked with. Leo clearly knows just about everyone, so it’s always fun to hear him greeting old friends. Leo also recognized that we could handle a good pace and helped us pass some slower groups on summit day, leading to the absolute perfect sunrise at the summit. They know the mountain extremely well and did everything to make sure we had the perfect trip.
Additionally, Tumaini is the owner and very responsive to all communications. Finding a Tanzanian owned company that’s part of KPAP was important for us, and majestic Kilimanjaro more than delivered.

From arrival to departure, this trip exceeded my high expectations. Tumaini’s commitment to a high level of service was evident in all aspects, not the least of which was his selection of guides and the expeditionary team. Kefas (lead guide) and Deo (second guide) were outstanding! They communicated, set and managed expectations for each days’ trek, and were very attune to each client’s mental and physical condition and adapted appropriately with pace (Pole Pole)! Phenomenal experience and I highly recommend this group if you are considering a trip to summit Mount Kilimanjaro.

After deciding to climb Kilimanjaro to raise money for Farleigh Hospice we chose Majestic Kilimanjaro to help us achieve our goal. From the very beginning Tumaini was responsive to our questions and helped us ensure we had the right equipment or organise hire for the bits we didn't have. On arrival we were picked up at the airport and taken to Planet Lodge, which was a really welcoming place to stay, before meeting our guide Leo. Over the next 8 days Leo, Julius (our assistant guide) and James, our chef, were absolutely brilliant. The porters did a great job in getting our camps set up for us each day, the food was fantastic and everything we needed was dealt with leaving us to just focus on getting to the summit!
Following the climb we went on safari and our guide January was welcoming, knowledgeable and took us to some beautiful locations to see some incredible wildlife. All of the accommodation was top quality, with great food and locations, perfect for relaxing after the climb!
I can't recommend them enough and we're already thinking about coming back to climb Meru, go on safari in the Serengeti and visit Zanzibar!

If you want to make it to the top of Kilimanjaro, Majestic Kilimanjaro is the company to go with. We did the eight day North Lemosho Route with Kefas as our lead guide. Kefas and all the guides were knowledgeable, professional, and skilled. On summit night I started having medical issues about half an hour outside of base camp. Kefas determined these issues were caused by a combination of exhaustion and the cold. He made the decision to split our group, with bulk of the group continuing to the summit, while he brought me and one other group member back down to basecamp to rest and try again at sunrise. I slept for a few hours, got up with the sun, and then Kefas led us to the summit with no issues. I am deeply impressed with Kefas ability to make a difficult decision under pressure. A less experienced and less committed guide would not have gotten me to the summit. In the end every member of our groupe was able to summit.
Another area where Majestic Kilimanjaro shined was the food. I’m vegetarian and it was a complete non-issue. Every meal they cooked a second vegetarian entree specifically for me, and made sure I was well fed for the entire trek.
After climbing Kilimanjaro I went on a six day safari with Reginald as our guide. In addition to being an excellent driver, he has expert level knowledge about all the animals in the parks. He also has an incredible ability to find animals and get close to them. I was simply blown away by the number of animals we saw and how close we were able to get to them.
Finally I was impressed by Majestic Kilimanjaro’s logistics. They gave us a schedule before we arrived and stuck to it perfectly. I was never confused about what was going on, or left waiting around for something. This includes COVID testing, which they organized and we never had to worry about.

Thanks Majestic Kilimanjaro for the trip of a lifetime! From Tumaini organizing the trip to the finest details including top notch hotels and navigating all the COVID requirements, to providing the very best experience on the mountain, Majestic was simply the best. I can't tell you how many other climbing groups we came across on the mountain who saw our accommodations, food and camp, and had nothing but complaints about their guide service. Once on the mountain, our Majestic team, led by Kefas, a mountain guide legend, ensured our experience was magnificent and that everyone on of our team was successful in making the summit, This trip will provide us a lifetime of memories, if you want to climb Kilimanjaro, you are making a mistake if you are not choosing Majestic. We passed numerous groups on the mountains exhausted and sick , while we summited, I give that credit to Majestic!
Oh and after completing our trek up Kili, Majestic lined us up for a Safari, where we could view all of the "Big Five" of Africa.

I chose this company because they are Tanzania owned & take great care of their porters/guides. I did an 8-day Kilimanjaro climb as a solo climber, but they treated me like family & I never felt alone. They were very professional at every level, going above & beyond to make the experience run smoothly from start to finish. The owner, Tumaini, picked me up from the airport personally, & arranged a wonderful hotel (Outpost Lodge) before/after the climb.
My guide Noel was a delightful person to hike with each day, as well as extremely knowledgeable & experienced about the mountain. He was very organized & kept me informed about each day’s itinerary. He helped prepare me for each phase of the climb with sound advice & was very good about adjusting his pacing/route to meet my needs.
Chef Amani (& assistant Jonas) made the most delicious meals! Each dish was carefully crafted with balanced nutrition to fuel the demands of climbing/altitude, including fresh fruit/vegetables, proteins/carbs, & amazingly tasty soups.
My personal assistant/waiter Baraka as well as the entire team of porters (Willi, Joshua, Thomas, Raymond, Bricen, Earnest, Jonas, & Donni) took such great care of me and were so kind, playful, and funny! I truly miss all of them since I’ve left and have been keeping in contact with them each week since I’ve been home.
I would definitely climb with this company again a thousand times over, and highly recommend them to anyone seeking an amazing climbing experience on Kilimanjaro!

Stop searching. Majestic Kilimanjaro will get you to the summit while maximizing your fun and safety. All aspects of this operation are simply first rate. Having successfully summited with a group of 5 and observing others nearby, I can assure you that no other company on the mountain can match Majestic. Tumaini has you covered for all pre-trek questions and logistics. Kefas, our lead guide, was a commanding force with the skills and experience to handle any situation. COVID testing logistics were no problem. Special diet restrictions were no problem. When one in our group fell ill summit morning, Kefas made a critical call, split the group and still got us all safely to the top before noon the next day. Book now before the crowds return.

Majestic Kilimanjaro came highly recommended and did not disappoint. From the thorough pre planning and instructions we received before we got to Tanzania all the way to the summit, they provided step by step coaching and instruction. Despite Covid restrictions, Tumaini Sandi and his team of experts made sure we were safe, informed, and ready for the adventure. Kefas, our lead guide is one of the most experienced guides you will find and will make sure you have the best chance at summitting safely. He has 20 years on this mountain and will help tailor the trek for you from food, gear, routing, and of course safety. Deo, our other guide was equally capable and his positive attitude helped get us to the top. If you want the best, choose Majestic Kilimanjaro and ask for Kefas and Deo to take you to this 19,351' summit.

We did the 7-day Machame Route and a 6-day safari with Majestic Kilimanjaro and both were absolutely incredible experiences. One thing I love about Majestic Kilimanjaro is that they are a local company that gives back to the local community and treats their porters and guides very well, and they are also incredibly professional and well run. Cannot recommend Majestic Kilimanjaro highly enough!
For Kili, our entire trek team took great care of us and was a joy to be around. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip and a successful summit (which we did). The food was delicious, and they accommodated our vegetarian diet no problem. We couldn’t have asked for better guides. They were not only super experienced and knowledgeable about anything and everything related to the trek and the mountain, but also had incredibly friendly and enjoyable personalities.
For safari, our guide was fantastic and made sure we had the exact experience we wanted. We saw SO much, and it was clear a big part of our success in sightings was due to his experience understanding where to go and when. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about all of the wildlife we saw, which is key to appreciating the safari experience. The places we stayed throughout are safari were incredible. I couldn’t have imagined better, more unique lodging choices. As with Kili, the food served was wonderful the entire time.
If you are considering either trekking Kilimanjaro or safari with Majestic Kilimanjaro, trust me you won’t regret booking with them and will be hard up to find another experience as good!

One of the things that appeals to me about this company, is that they state: "4 INCH THICK WATERPROOF FOAM MATTRESS" - first, I am hoping this isnt a typo, as other companies state 4 cm mattress. I don't tend to sleep that well when backpacking sleeping on a Thermarest brand pad... any comments how this compares to a thermarest?
Written 5 January 2019
HI I know this is really late and I am so sorry I didn't see your question earlier but I just want to let you know that they are in fact 4inch mattresses and it is not a typo. It's the most comfortable sleep you can get on the mountain.

Day 1: Arrive in Arusha
You’ll arrive in Arusha and have an overnight at Impala hotel in Arusha is a safari city which is located under Mount Meru in the northern part of Tanzania. Arusha is inhabited by Meru, Maasai, Waarusha, and Barabaig people.
Arusha is cool, sunny, and fantastic with daily climate variability. Arusha is surrounded by national parks from both sides. In Arusha, people grow coffee (Arabic coffee), bananas, maize, avocado, beans, green vegetables, and more. You will be warmly welcomed in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha to Serengeti National Park
Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and depart with en-route game watching to Serengeti via Nabi Hill Gate where your driver guide make confirmation of fees while you enjoy your lunch box.
You’ll arrive in Serengeti in the afternoon time where you’ll enjoy your afternoon game drive in the heart of Serengeti National Park. You will able to see lions, lioness, giraffe, impala, Thomson’s gazelles, cheetah, zebra, and wildebeest in plenty. At sunset, approach your already-prepared Mbugani Tented camp dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Serengeti is fantastic especially in the morning time when predators coming back from hunts. Do you know how animals behave in the morning? If you are lucky, today, you’ll witness hippopotamus returning into the water after whole night striving for food, leopard hanging a Thomson’s gazelle prey up to the tree, cheetahs chasing troops of impala on target for food, elephants massaging their body on the tree, and more.
When in season, witness the part of wildebeest migration and bird life. After lunch, you’ll depart with en-route game drive in the endless plains dotted with rocky hills and the home of predators with your open roof Land Cruiser with your camera at hand. You’ll arrive in Ngorongoro Crater at sunset for hot shower, dinner, and overnight at Ngorongoro farm house
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Ngorongoro Crater and descend to the crater floor for a game drive. In the afternoon, you’ll ascend to the rim and depart for Arusha. Ngorongoro Crater is an oasis for wildlife habitation. In Ngorongoro, you’ll see the volcanic caldera which is the world's largest, full of grassland, forest and swamp, a setting of jaw-dropping beauty.
The permanent water of the crater floor supports a resident population of more than 24,900 large mammals including elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, wallowing hippos, waterbucks, baboons, and even the rare black rhinos. Sharing this empathetic spaces with the wildlife are the Maasai people, grazing their cattle in an area which has been a separate conservation area.
This harmonious cohabitation of man and beast makes Ngorongoro unique in the world and your driver guide will be pleased to explain this incredible co-existence to you. After your morning game drive, you’ll have your picnic lunch in the crater before you return to Arusha. Your dinner and overnight will be at Impala hotel.
Day 5: Great farewell
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the place of your departure.Caracal Adventures Ltd team is looking forward to meeting you again along with your friends and family as you recommend this safari. Good luck!

My sister and I basically told Majestic Kilimanjaro what we wanted to do and see and they arranged everything. We had a safari guide to ourselves and we did Tarangire NP, 3 days in the Serengeti, 1 day in Ngorongora Crater, and 1 day in Lake Manyara. Majestic arranged everything in regards to where we stayed each night as well. I know they can also arrange the balloon rides as well, we actually saw them in the park. The other magnificent part of this company is that they only use locals and some of their proceeds go to a local orphanage.

Hi, I am dreaming of doing the Kilimanjaro-Tour with my quite sportive 11 y old son in July 2016.
We have lived in the South African highveld (1800 m) for the last 4 years and will hopefully adapt easier to hight because of that.
However, we would hate to slow down other fellow hikers or being a burden to them, so please advise what would be the easiest trek to use, and if the tour would be feasible and acceptable for a 11 y old boy at all. Thanks so much!
Ihno
Written 7 April 2016
Hi Ihno, The youngest person our Company has taken on Mount Kilimanjaro was 9 years old. This is permissible as long as you or another family member is present on the climb.
You and your son would not slow down other climbing members. We use at least two guides on all our climbs, and the slowest member of the climb would set the pace of the climb. When climbing Kilimanjaro, the best way to acclimatise is trek slowly. We would probably need to slow your son down. I would not be concerned at all. A sporty boy should be able to summit without trouble.
If you are concerned about the climb, I would recommend that you look at the Rongai route. This route is not a step as some of the other routes, and it also avoids the Barranco Wall, where you have to scramble up rocks for part of the day. All the best for this great adventure.
