Golf round
Feb. 2020 • Couples
We enjoyed a round of golf with my wife. Conditions good. Nice people, great caddies. We have hired golf clubs, that were slightly older, but good brands, nice to play. All ok. :)

Great round of golf in a unique setting
Jan. 2020
Myself and partner decided to play a round prior to heading off on safari. If you have any interest in golf I would hugely recommend you doing the same - it also gives you an early chance to spot some of the wildlife in the area.

The course was immaculate - very well maintained and also very quiet. It felt like we were the only ones on the course. The caddies were very friendly and helped us navigate the course.

Rental clubs weren't the latest models but were still decent, I played with a set of Nike Forged Blades which I loved.

Afterwards, you can sit on the terrace with a cold beer overlooking the challenging 18th island green.

The organisation beforehand was great (big thanks to Denis). Definitely a course I'll never forget playing. Couldn't recommend it highly enough if you're in the area.

Fun time
Jul. 2019
We had a fun time playing a round of golf here. We found the course to be very well taken care of and quite beautiful. There were even several Baboons and Dik Diks running around, which was a nice little treat. We rented clubs since golf was not the main focus of our trip and we did not bring our own. They were both mixed bags - nothing consistent (brand, length, etc). That definitely added a challenge, but we were playing just for fun. The caddies were friendly, nice, and helpful. We enjoyed our time here. Nicer rental clubs would have made a huge difference, but all in all, it was still fun.

THIEVES
Apr. 2019 • Friends
We played a round on april 2019.. The course was so-so and the rental clubs seem from 1980s. Could do a lot better by providing decent clubs..

But thats not it.. The caddies are a bunch of thieves.. BEWARE...

I had my wallet inside my golf pouch, which was inside the golf bag that the caddie was carrying.. The caddies were most of the times with us, but sometimes they ran to "the ball" and that, i assume, is when they go through your stuff and tanke whatever they want..

We realized that money was missing at the end, when we had already tipped the caddies, gave them our hats, remaining golf balls, etc...

We wanted to pay for a glove and balls we had bought at the "proshop" and realized there was 150 usd missing..We told the guys at the proshop that we were 100% that the caddies had taken our money and he was like "ok, no worries, dont pay for glove and balls".. like if this was something that occurs regulary..

We also talked to the owner Rory Elliott who was supposed to be in touch with us (we had to leave for our safari) in order to return our money, but after a couple emails we sent him, we havent heard back form him...

I believe this is something that happens regularly, so if you decide to play this golf course, you should be aware that this might happen...

We left with a very bad experience...

Could be better
Jan. 2019 • Friends
Disappointed. For such a great venue the fact that the club house restaurant does not serve food (it's closed - really ?) and there are no score cards available for the course is really poor. Dog poo scattered across many of the fairways is not attractive. The caddies are not up to scratch - they should be trained to do more than carry a bag. Great venue, challenging course, brilliant bird life and wildlife but really could be better.

Great Round at Kili Golf!
Aug. 2018 • Solo
This course was amazing! I really enjoyed playing here, while staying in Moshi! The greens, fairways, bunkers, tee blocks and rough were in great condition. The course (weekday) wasn't busy at all and I could play at my pace and not feel rushed. The only small complaint that I had was that the rental clubs (which were a pretty good set of Taylor Made) didn't have any tees in the bag, and the smallest sized bag of tees was 50 and they charged me 15 USD for tees, which was kind of funny- so I just laughed and rolled with it- and ended up giving the Caddies (who I saw teeing off mid round) large handfuls of tees. They seemed happy. Also, I bought a handful of used balls for the round also for 15 dollars- but the greens fees were only 70 bucks - so the round was about $100 USD- which is similar to another very nice golf course I played in Kenya. The caddie was a great young guy who clearly enjoyed his job, the golf course and playing in his free time.

Rory, the main man at the course was easy to contact and provided me with lots of assistance in getting to and from the golf course, and in planning my round before I arrived in Tanzania. He was extremely patient and helpful and you should look him up- if you plan on playing Kili Golf!

Great experience
Apr. 2018 • Family
Spent my 2018 Easter weekend here with the family. The food is great (inspite of the very limited menu) the staff are very friendly and helpful. The golf course is really really good and challenging. The greenkeeping staff deserve a special mention for keeping it in such pristine condition. The 2-bedroom chalet we stayed at was cosy and very homely. And the views...... You need to be there to appreciate them. Overall a really great experience for us all!

This is a Gem. If You are a Golfer at least, this is a Must Visit!
Dec. 2017 • Couples
I have heard so much about this place from my friends. The search on the internet was equally promising. well, wait until you get there and it doesn't disappoint. If you are a golfer, this is a must visit. The fairways are amazing. The blend with the nature is breathtaking. Mt. Meru somehow towers over you from every other shot. The No.18 hole is the real deal to crown it all. Unfortunately I sunk all my three balls in the water. Meaning, I will be back in another few months. Besides the golf, the place is lush and tranquil. Ny wife, who is not a golfer enjoyed the quite and shade under a nice acacia tree reading her book. this is a great place for all. The Manager, Rory Elliot was extremely helpful and took us round in his car to check on the properties. The menu is simple, but very delicious. But I think they should consider having a pool for the kids. At least they will have something to do as you golf or chill out. Overly, this is a Gem. Do pay a visit.

A Scenic escape for relaxation
Dec. 2017 • Friends
The clubhouse/restaurant is like something out of a movie. A big beautiful mansion surrounded by lush green grass. We went for a late lunch which was followed by an evening full of wine. The views from the restaurant balcony are spectacular, breathtaking even. The staff was extremely welcoming, very friendly and helpful in making sure we got want we wanted. My friends and I all had the beef burger meal, it was very tasty. All in all it was a beautiful experience and we are looking forward to visiting again soon. The only downside is that the menu is very small, there were basically 4 dishes on the food menu with a few starters and appetizers. So don't expect to feast at the restaurant but expect to enjoy what you order.
