30+ years ago my wife lived in Taichung and came here often. This temple and Buddha were in a thriving neighborhood and are now walled off and poorly maintained. The Buddha is closed for entry. We enjoyed seeing them, however we feel it would be...More

Not much here, but if you've got some time, it's always nice to take a picture with a giant buddha. People on your social media will freak out.

This temple is a must see. The Buddha is the biggest I have ever seen. The temple at this location are nicely maintained and many people are meditating in the proximity. Be quiet, respectful and take in this experience nearby the gigantic statue!

The premise housed a Temple, a Columbarium, and a charming Buddha Statue. We visited on a Sunday morning and it was rather quiet. And we came here mainly to get a photo with the 7th storey high statue, certainly enjoyed it. The windows located around...More

I would suggest you to take a taxi, unless you speak the Chinese language, can manage to use the bus system and ready to change bus lines.

It is free. However, donations are always accepted at temples. If you light incense (3 sticks is customary) and/or burn paper "money," a contribution is expected.
