Very clean, scenic, lots of people on the beach but not in the water. We went in just to test the water to say we did! It was very warm and we managed to collect a few shells too. Surf was pretty tame so no danger there. Apparently the locals just don't swim or spend much time in the water.

We caught the ferry over. A lovely stroll down the main street to the beach which had grey sand apparently volcanic. I loved the market stalls and locals looked beautiful at night

I wasn't really very impressed with the beaches on Cijin island. The lighthouse is impressive, and the fort is nice enough, the tunnels are interesting but the beaches are just dirty and unpleasant looking. Perhaps they would seem more appealing if it hadn't been such a hot day when I visited.

5 of us went to Kaohsiung for a 4 days tour . We booked a driver from Kaohsiung Mr Pang +886 971-007-809 for a 2 days tour. Mr Pang is a very kind, considerate , polite, driver. He will bring us to places that are interesting and introduce food that is delicious and cheap. He is also very entertaining and... More

Spend a great day here...rent a bicycle and take the ferry over. You can cycle around the place to see the sea with black sand and the cijin windmill. We came just in time to see the sand structure event. There's some nice dried product market nearby the seaside park.

Burning hot early Monday afternoon! Amazing sand castle/figures display! Island was busier by late afternoon.

Suitable for outdoor enthusiasts! Rented full day bicycle and covered the whole Cijin island within a day. Explored all parts of the island. Many were accessible via bicycles and lots for bicycle were everywhere. A nice place to enjoy the breeze and get a nice tan!

Nice walk by the sea, with views of the black sand volcanic beach. Peaceful and quiet - the perfect place for a stroll after or before a seafood lunch.

Best to visit during the week as on weekends I'm told it can be packed. I went on a Tuesday and felt quite at peace with little distractions.

At the start you will see many roadside stalls and seafood restaurants. But after a while it is just sand, sea, and benches. A nice place to take an afternoon nap.
