Terrific scenery and beautiful walks. October probably isn't the best time of year to visit though. We bought a 2-day pass for the shuttle bus, so that we could take it easy, but it rained heavily both days! At the Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) there was...More

The gorge is amazing. The park is well organized, with inexpensive bus connections through the park, stopping at most of the trails and scenic sites.

I pick Hualien on my itinerary primarily for the sake of visiting Taroko National Park. That's a reason our family didn't regret. The marble-walled canyon is simply a miracle, literally "a walk-in Chinese painting" (to quote the Lonely Planet). Unless you stay there for two...More

Even with rain, the view is just breathtaking! Very well managed trails that are good for family with young children. Some trails are more for teenagers and adults. If you have a chance to go there, do miss the trails.

The history, the battle between nature and civilisation and Martyrs who built the road. Beautiful views and still difficult road that's constantly subject to the win btn natures power and humans determination to fix it.
