We lingered at this place to marvel at the splashing waves that slapped the rocks repeatedly. The rocks are beautifully carved by nature into what look steps. My boys were so enthralled by it all. Must visit. Only to view but sea is inaccessible because of rocks. If you have small kids and over adventurous teenagers, do watch over them... More

I was extremely intrigued by the rock formation at Shihtiping and rate this as my best spot at Hualien to take great photos. In spite of the rain and strong winds, we stayed on for a good 2-3 hours and took so many nice photographs. Do be careful while moving from rock to rock as we are really high up.... More

Scenic view of the ocean and the rock formation brought about by the earth tectonic activities. Recommend to climb up the "stone steps" to reach the highest point for the best pictures.

A few minutes walk from the entrance get you to the interesting rock formation pounding by the constant ocean waves. Do dress properly as it can be windy. There is unobstructed ocean views 180 degrees for miles from the top of the rock formation. The elevation is less than 100 ft. I really enjoy the breeze up there with the... More

One of the most famous attractions in east coast, Shitiping is known for its special geology of sea terrain including the wave-cut platforms, uplifted coral reefs, cliffs and the potholes. You can see the tropical fish in tide pools from potholes and other marine life dwell here.

The view of both the mountains and the Pacific Ocean is amazing. You can have a nice walk in the area, climb the rocks on the beach and take pictures. There are some hotels if you want to spend the night.

A stopover along our route from Hualien to Kenting along the famous East Coast, Shihtiping is a place not to be missed. Giving a serene and unforgettable sight, it is really a great relaxing place too. We are amazed by what mother nature could do to the formation of the rocks alongside the bay creating uniqueness just for Shihtiping. If... More
