Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Positioned right on the street corner, as everyone is going about their daily activities, is this simple structure, where anyone is free to drop in & offer a moment of prayer.

As with all the places of worship in Galle Fort, this is a beautiful building. You will find it as you walk around the Galle Fort city walls. If you go inside you must wear covered clothing, and no headwear nor footwear but you can were socks. I always carry a sarong folded in my bag for such occasions.

This is a small Buddhist temple not far from the fort ramparts and on the edge of town. It felt welcoming and peaceful, and was a great place to have a moment of quiet reflection away from the hustle and bustle of Galle.

This is a cute little temple inside Galle fort and the place is well maintained in the old colonial style. the entire Galle fort is an example of pure colonial memory as there is not an inch of newly renovated structure

The temple is easy to spot with its gleaming white stupa and white building. Inside you will see a room with a young Buddha surrounded by adoring celestial beings and statues of many Buddhas walking towards what is enlightenment? In another room you will find a reclining Buddha again beautifully painted. The temple is quiet and relaxing. Of course the usual respectful procedures of shoes off needs to practiced. There are donation boxes if you wish to contribute to the up keep of the temple. Worth a visit.

This was a bit of a surprise - not much to look at other than a nice old building outside, inside the temple has a stupa and beautiful brightly coloured (if a tad cheesy) murals. Worth a visit.
