This is a small Buddhist temple not far from the fort ramparts and on the edge of town. It felt welcoming and peaceful, and was a great place to have a moment of quiet reflection away from the hustle and bustle of Galle.

This is a cute little temple inside Galle fort and the place is well maintained in the old colonial style. the entire Galle fort is an example of pure colonial memory as there is not an inch of newly renovated structure

It used to be a church and now is a Buddhist Temple. It is a peaceful place to visit. The statues of Buddha are beautiful.

Nice temple to visit and great monk with some awesome advise. It has been a centre for all the Buddhist people inside galle and we had a peak on how the sunday school runs inside this shrine.

This is a very peaceful Vihara within the Fort with the Bodhi tree set across the small road from the temple and itself containing an unusual enclosed temple under the tree for Bodhi puja.

In another room you will find a reclining Buddha again beautifully painted. The temple is quiet and relaxing. Of course the... More

Certainly worth stepping off the walls and paying your respects at this small temple in the heart of bustling Galle. Perhaps not as big or as grand as some that we've seen this trip but lovely nonetheless.
