Galle Fort is the main attraction of Galle. This majestic fort stands on the sea shore. Its really big and you need at least 2-3 hours to walk around the fort and its surrounding.

The fort and its colonial interior are something out of a Hollywood 'Pirates of the Caribbean' set. Absolutely stunning and well worth a visit regardless of weather. we visited during monsoon season, and it just made the sunset sat on the ramparts even more spectacular.

You must see the Fort when visiting Galle. We made 2 trips to the Fort at Galle. There's a lot of Fort to visit and you need time to take in the size of the the fortifications and enjoy the view from the walls.
