This is the place where one of prominent Sri Lankan novelist & creative writer Martin Wickramasinghe spent his life. Folk museum located in Koggala around 15-20kms from Galle towards to Matara. Every Sri Lankan school children must visit place.

We found this gem by accident. It was a wonderful walk through some history. We were so into it, we ended up buying some books which we read as kids and re read them. Of course they were written my Martin Wickramasinghe.

The museum is open every day of the year, except on the 13th and 14th of April, from 9AM to 5PM.

You could potentially cover the highlights in an hour. However, ideally, you should spend a couple of hours at the museum to truly appreciate what it has to offer.

The museum is open everyday of the week throughout the year, except for two days during the Sinhalese & Tamil new year.
