Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We decided to stay near the Bomun Lake area where the better quality accommodations are. Although it was about a 15-20 minute drive to the city center where most of the historical sights are, it was nice to be in a spacious area. Bomun area has newer attractions, such as Gyeongju World theme park and the Gyeongju Expo Park, that really don’t appeal to those looking for historical sights. Most of the better restaurants were in the city also so the only appeal of the area was really the better accommodation and the lake area which was great for morning jogs and evening strolls.

It's the 1st day of this Sakura trip and luckily encountering the last few days of fully blooming. The dropping of cherry blossoms were just breathtakingly as sakura snow. The lake also amazingly reflected all the colors, styles and petals of fully blooming blossoms and pretty scenery around.

The lake is populated with hotels/resorts on one side and has some great natural spaces on the other. There is a very well maintained trail that surrounds it. The water level was low when we visited and would have been more enjoyable if it was higher. There appears to be a lot of water activities that people can try out!

A large artificial lake surrounded by five star large hotels, starbucks and swan boats on the lake. Nothing wrong with that but not my thing!

Not worth a visit unless you're interested in resort hotels around an artificial lake. The area is geared toward Korean tourist weekend getaways and conventions mostly. The resort is not close to anything interesting culturally except the food village, which does have some good Korean restaurants. A cultural tourist would do much better staying in Gyeongju proper

This is an artificial lake with, I imagine, lots to appeal in season if you like amusements, shopping and views. We were there off season mid-November and it was fairly busy even with not everything open. We rented bikes (only 5000 won for 2 hours) and rode around the whole lake with plenty of time to spare, though this might be more difficult in season as some of the paths stated no bikes -we had no problem as it wasn’t too busy.
We had fabulous weather and there were a few cafés open.

The lake is @5km around. It’s a nice walk and you can move off to the main road on one side if you want to get a bus / taxi to your destination. I would have rated this 4 but the big downside is an ugly theme park at one end. It seems weird having such culture nearby mixed in with a US style theme park

..... If a little annoying that classical music is constantly piped over outdoor PA system along the path. I would rather listen to the birdsong.
Nice vistas across the lake - many photo ops.

There is a lovely lakeside path that runs from one end to the other. In spring it is lined with blossom trees. The views are lovely and there is nice music playing through speakers as you meander along.
