Anse Marron Tour

La Digue Island’s is known for its beaches, and many of them – including more secluded ones like Anse Cocos – are popular and can get crowded during the busy season. This full-day excursion takes you away from those guidebook highlights; instead, spend the height of the day relaxing and swimming at Anse Marron, an isolated beach tucked away between Grande Anse and Anse Source d’Argent. Follow your guide across challenging terrain and be rewarded with a pristine white-sand beach with an incredible collection of boulders in the ocean.

The sand on this beach was as fine as flour, it was so great to stand on and touch! The water had beautiful shades of blue. It's a runner up to Anse Lazio, Georgette, Kerlan and Volbert, but still very pretty. There is plenty of shade, small waves and a little street parking.

Due to the trade winds at this time of year the water is very choppy, especially near Footprints. Not ideal to take out kayaks or for safe swimming and were told to go to the other side of the island for swimming. Its so choppy you cant see to walk in it either in case of walking on Sting Ray's.. It is indeed beautiful but might not be what you are expecting.

Nice white firm sand beach with mostly calm water, great for swimming or just enjoying the warm water. Depending on the day (wind/tide), may get some sea grass & algae washing in or can be extra clean clear water, we had a bit of both but never stopped us or others from going into the water every day. The water temp ranged from cool to very warm, always comfortable. The sand bottom is nice & takes a long time to get to deep water. Some small patches of sea grass but lots of sand. There are a couple restaurants along the beach & supermarkets across the road for snacks & beverages. Overall, a great beach, we saw many beaches on the island but this one was for us. Anse Lazio was too far away & too rough, dangerous but nice to look at. We enjoyed the warm, calm water & shade. Also, a mix of tourists & local people using the beach which was nice. Bus stop nearby & ATMs.
