Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a quiet place, a learning place where the atmosphere is unique.
The silence is special and even more when you look at the lake.
As usual the view on Kineret is beautiful and fulfilling.
The architecture is also very special and somehow inspiring.
It increases even more the serenity of this place, and makes it worth visiting, whichever faith you belong to.

"Domus Galilaeae" is located on the Mountain of Beatitude, north to Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee. It is believed to be the place where Jesus gave his sermon to the 12 apostles. It is a new complex owned by the Catholic Church, to use for seminars and conventions. While visiting Israel in the year 2000, Pope John Paul II, visited the place. The church is also used for studying the old and New Testament. It has colorful vintage windows. The library is most impressive and designed in a modern version. In the middle they have a big "Torah" book, to emphasize the connection between Judaism and Christians. We were a small group of 8 people, who came without pre-booking. We had to wait about 10 minutes till somebody from the Seminar's students could guide us around. It was free of charge. Beside the useful information about the place, we've got answers to all our questions. The main purpose of "Domus Galilaeae" is to be a center for dialog between all religions. We enjoyed the visit and highly recommend a visit there.

We had the pleasure of exploring the monastery , guided by Aldo.
Every visitor , or groups of visitors gets a guide which escort the tour , and shared his knowledge and some of his personal experience as well.

The monastery itself is amazingly built , with the best view of the sea of Galilee , which is certainly a bonus

This is a Catholic theological seminary located in a beautiful modern building, commanding a great view of the sea of Galilee. Visiting this place is possible only with a local guide, normally one of the young priests or students that study here. One does not need to call in advance, as long as one comes during the (rather short) opening hours. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, and is always more then happy to show anyone around the place. they will furnish you a profound explanation about the reach symbolism and artistic works of the place.

This institution, operated by the Catholic church is a fascinating place. It is a place of learning. The guides are basically students who live there. They are from different places around the world. Our guide a a very good 40 minute tour. He explained what goes on at the site and the reason for its being.

You take the tour with one of the priests of the monastery, so that you get a detailed explanation of the purpose and meaning. It's a modern monastery, beautiful in it's architecture and symbolism.

amazing views, lucked out and had a private guide - a seminary student from Brazil, studying in USA, but at the Domus for a year. Highly informative, and an excellent tour, full of interesting facts. Highly recommend stopping here. Cover up required going inside.
