DO NOT DO THIS IN THE SUMMER WHEN IT IS HOT
No doubt it is very fun in the other months, but the temperature in this thing is easily a good 7C hotter than the outside, which in the summer turns it into a makeshift oven. The fact it stops halfway will literally roast you alive. You have been warned.
The view is nice though...

This is an exciting way to travel to the other side of the mountain . All the way we can see some palm trees which Jericho is most famous for. The cable car is user friendly because it can sit 8 people and we happen to meet an Italian woman married to a Belgian national and it was her birthday so in the middle of our ride, we were singing to her a. Irthday song. Besides this, we can see the panoramic view of the area . Jericho is said to be the oldest city in the world proven by many archeological digs that happen and the artifacts they have acquired. Why wait? Go now!

The actual cable car ride was pretty average, views were okay. I think the only significant part of the trip is to go and see the mount of temptation, which was sadly closed by the time we got there (2pm on a Saturday). There was a restaurant and one or two souvenier shops at the top as well, other than that we stood around a few mins taking pictures and then waited to go back down again. Or you can always trek your way back down the mountain - we did see some people walk it

I came to Jericho to see the Monastery of the Temptation, and the easiest way to do that was to take this cable car. It was such a hot day, and the ride was so welcome so that I didn't need to hike up. There is a small gift shop and clean toilets as the base. The surprising thing was that you went over the archeological site of the oldest part of the city and could have a brief look both on the way up and the way down. The views over the "City of Palm Trees" was quite nice, and gave a great panarama of the area all the way down to the Dead Sea.

A ride in the cable car enables you to visit the mount of temptation and to get a panoramic view of ancient Jericho and the Jordan Valley.

The Monastery of Quruntal in the temptation mountain is a unique site where Satan tested Jesus after fasting for 40 days.. The view is just amazing to have a look at whole Jericho in front of you..

How to get to Jericho from Jerusalem for 10 people?
Written 3 August 2018
Jericho is easy. Take a tour Hire a car. The places to see are scattered, so best to have transportation. Also, if you want to see the main places, it might be worth your while to hire a guide and one with a car or small van.

You should be able to park on the street right in front of the entrance to the cable car service. It was not too crowded when we were there. Jericho is a smaller city. It is not congested.
