These sculptures are awesome!! I wish that I had gotten out of my car for a better look! They are very large and hard to miss. My favorite was the woman with the two kids.

These sculptures were so very detailed that they almost seemed life like. The people's faces and the animals were so real. As I moved from one sculpture to the next, they were impressive. There is no cost to view the sculptures and parking is easy...More

Artesia has many wonderful sculptures to stop and enjoy. My favorite is The Foundation in front of the Public Library. It has layers of meaning and stopping to read the informational plaques surrounding it will give you the deeper meaning. The Derrick is a fun...More

In general, Artesia was a surprise. It is a pretty little town that benefits from the oil business wealth in quality of the downtown area. The bronze statues all over the area were really interesting and told some of the history of the Artesia area.

This exhibit tells about the people that started the oil field in the area and even has statues made of those people. The oil field platform is really interesting.
