The ruins is quite amazing but once is enough.... the restaurant is inside the park you have to pay a small entry fee to get in and if you want to see everything you have to pay more. The animation at the visitor centre is worth a visit !

This was our second visit to the Caesarea National Park, north of Tel Aviv in Israel. Our first trip there had been about five or six years ago and we had only been able to view a very small portion of the park. Evidently in the years since, great headway has been made in discovering, "fixing-up" and displaying the ancient ruins and remains of this city. We were able to see and view much, much more of the Caesarea ruins and remains than we saw on our first trip. A very informative and interesting Visitor's Center has been added with multi-media displays and explanations; and restaurants and conveniences for visiting tourists.
It was a hot, very sunny day and there is no shade except in the Visitor's Center and restaurants so be prepared; but theCaesarea National Park is one of the many, many highlights of a trip to Israel and the Holy Land.

What a great site! Wonderful Roman ruins complete with mosaics, columns, amphitheaters, a chariot racetrack and more! Great story behind its construction by Herod. It was a deep-water port that was protected by manmade seawalls; an incredible work of vision and engineering at that time. It is well worth the visit. It's just a shame that it is so difficult to get to by public transportation. You can do it, just keep an eye on the schedule. There are a couple of buses that will bring you to the train station but each one runs on 1 or 2 hour intervals so you have to get the timing right.

Caesarea MARITIMA is an archeological delight. The ruins are spectacular and you need a day to see it but at least 2 days to see it completely. The complex sprawls across acres of breathtaking scenery bordered by the blue Mediterranean Sea and the surf breaking against the remains of the Port walls and splashing on the sands near the Hippodrome. You can admire the seascape from Herods palace and from the ramparts of the Crusaders ,the bath house of Byzantine age and marvel at the intricate mosaics. The more you see the more you want to uncover.
It is not easy for the elderly or those with walking difficulties to navigate the rocky/ sandy terrain. Not wheelchair friendly either.

This is a well preserved ancient site in a beautiful setting along the sea. The park is tastefully developed with restaurants, gift shops and galleries. We spent several hours wandering among the ruins engrossed in the history, We were there on a Monday in mid-May and the crowd was light, Had we been there late in the day, I would have considered staying for dinner in the restaurant overlooking the sea. An easy 40 minute drive from Tel Aviv, absolutely well worth a visit.

Worth visiting. It is one hour drive from Tel Aviv in Haifa district. During opening hours there is free but after that it is free to visit harbor many part of the remains but Caesaria Martima is close
Caesarea National Park was once a port city, and was rebuilt and expanded upon under the Roman Empire’s King Herod in the year 10 BCE. After that, it operated as a navy base, and became the capital of the Roman province of Judea, where it took on a central role in Christianity. Because of this Caesarea is referenced several times in the New Testament.

This, as we were to learn during our road trip, is the usual standard of Israeli National Parks - well laid out, clean, reasonably priced and with plenty of visitor information. We spent about 3 hours on the site, walking from the theatre in the south to the Crusader walls in the north.
The museum was very good, the model on the Temple of Augustus viewpoint was excellent too and allowed you to put everything you could see as you looked towards the harbour in context. The Herodian Hippodrome was also impressive and this was the smaller of the two in the city. For me the highlight were the city walls though, rebuilt by Louis IX - very impressive indeed.
There is a cafe on the site (by the harbour) and a couple of gift shop/galleries too.

Very dissapointing, there's almost nothing left to see here, except shops and restaurants, seems like you pay an entrance fee of 14 shekkels to go into a square eith some restaurants. 25 shekels extra will buy you ..more disappointment.

A major tourist attraction in Israel, this impressive archeaological site covers a large area along the beautiful shoreline. There is a lot to see including the restored deep water harbour, an impressive hippodrome and legendary aquaducts. Artefacts are on display in a museum that also shows a film in several languages. The site is easily accessible by car, but unfortunately much less so by public transportation.

Very well organized park. It was a little unclear how to pay for parking but the ticket agent explained(in English). The park is an easy walk through 2 hours or so, lots of signage. Clean washrooms and several good restaurants to have a meal, ice cream or coffee.
If you visit more than one park, purchase the Israel 3/6 pass , it will save you a bit.

Where do you buy the "Package" to visit several parks. and if you order from the US how do you get the tickets?? do they mail them or email them? I want to visit 5 parks in September. Prices would help. Thanks

You don't need to order the combo ticket in advance. Buy it at the first park you visit. As I recall it must be used within two weeks which didn't do us much good since our trip was three weeks. You will save some money with the combo ticket but not that much if visiting just 5 parks.

Orange Tiket(150) as saving tiket is introduced in Caesarea national park website and my family(3adult) visited here yesterday. I asked to tiket staff about orange tiket. But the staff didn't know the tiket. The staff introduced couple tiket(275) and 1adult tiket(181). So i bought these tiket. Orange tiket true?

I know that it costs about 40 shekels to visit Caesarea National park. Can I purchase a ticket using my VISA credit card or do I need cash?

Credit Card is available in all Israel. I practically used cash in the Suks ( Markets ) and even so I did not asked whether credit cards were available
