If you've never been to a mosque, go look. There are no explanations so bring a book or Google with you. It only costs 10 nis and it IS the second largest mosque in Israel / Palestine. So why not?

Located in the market area this colourful mosque was built because it is supposedly where the prophet Mohammed dropped a hair from his scalp. Whatever the reson, this charming building has a lovely courtyard.

Outdoors in the sun the mosque looks pretty. Interior is not particularly beautiful but located very centrally so pop round for a quick visit.

The women had to cover their heads. Our tour guide explained a lot of things to us which was interesting. There were men praying on their prayer rugs.
