Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

a magnificent swimming pool at low tide... at high tide you can jump from the pontoon,. but watch out...many many sea urchins...with long needles. If you are lucky you can see some fishes...they rent buoys, and you can buy local fabrics at reasonable prices. do not forget that people are very poor...so be generous. negotiate a bit..but not too much.

We made the mistake of visiting on a weekend and it was pretty crazy. There were lots of people and it was a bit loud and full of young men showing off. Not really worth the drive, on this occasion. But it is a beautiful spot and on a quieter day I would have enjoyed it more.

Note that we left our belongings in care, but left a nice pair of thongs by the water edge when we went swimming. These were stolen in the twenty minutes we were in the water. This is a first for me in around 20 visits to Indonesia, although we also had a T-Shirt taken on the same trip at a different location. There were lots of kids around and we tried to get the thongs back by offering a reward, but no-go.

It is worth a visit if you are in the area.

It's such a beautiful and amazing lagoon with crystal clear and clean water. One of the most visited and a must come in West Sumba. You can enjoy sun bathing in the lagoon or just swimming. In the entrance, many local people who sell local handicrafts and homemade woven fabric. Our main concern is the toilet (it's small & stinky). The roads to reach this place are still under reconstruction, still rocky, bumpy and dusty. But don't worry, once you reach there, your journey will be paid off with the amazing views.

The place is very touristic, the lagoon is not very large, and will change very quickly because of human activity. There are so many other places around to enjoy, and no so busy.

Before arriving at the lake I’ve almost got robbed by a group of kids, and a lot of aggresive beggars. We came into the entrance fee was 20k rupiah each. Walking down on a concrete path packed with Chinese taking selfies, people were high on the betelnut (what they take). Some Very sad men were there with stalls selling their traditional ikat sarong. Finally weve got at the lagoon. Everybody staring at my girlfriend because she didn’t bring extra pants to cover her bikini but only a t-shirt’ (I even heard a story from my guesthouse owner that a girl was been followed back by a local because she wasn’t totally covered when she came for a swim). What I really didn’t expect was to see People theowibg snakes in the lake. The snakes are not aggressive but you really have to watch out for them because they are venoms. Totally experience completely not worth it and not recommended.

A must to swim at this lake. You can reach easily from Mario beach hotel. Need to bring lunch boxes as they only sell young coconuts around the place. The road to go there is not yet comfortable. But once you get there you will be stunned by the nature

Such an amazing natural place damaged by humans...

Place is full of plastic junk everywhere and cheap souvenirs. Worst is: to make it easier plenty of concrete has been added, cement here, cement there, etc. 🤮

Ultimately, you are paying for an entry fee for which you do not receive receipt (in the pocket of the guy at the entrance) and which therefore does not add any value to the site (could try to make it natural again, use wood instead of cement, clean the surroundings and ensure the place remains clean, etc.)

Weekuri Lake is a salted water lagoon located in south-west Sumba. Water is constantly flowing in and out of the lake with waves coming from the ocean through holes underneath the rocks that separate the lake from the ocean. Because of that, there is no stagnating water in the lake. Water is crystal clear, no waves, we had a great swim there. Surroundings very Indonesian style, no place to change, smelly toilets, stalls with tourist stuff everywhere.
