Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Malanage Hot Spring, an unique hot spring with its still very natural surrounding. There is one pool where the very hot spring source is located. The very hot spring water flows through a river meets the pool of where the very cold water flows from another river. We will always feel like we are physically and psychologically balanced whenever we bathe in.

We can reach there around 45 minutes drive south direction from Bajawa District to Jerebu'u District via Ring Inerie St.

There are limited housing which designed to be homestays around here. Amenities such as "warung" / "kios" which provides daily needs are also limited eventhough it is a well-known tourist attraction. Other supporting infrastructure like water, electricity, and internet are easy to access.

We LOVED this spot! We were the only tourists there. A local was washing her clothes up river while her son was playing nearby and before we left another local woman was bathing. So beautiful. The road there was very narrow and very long. Get up early to see the volcano. One of the best hot springs we have been to.

A beautiful and unique hot spring experience. My wife and I loved our time here. We spent 45 minutes or an hour moving between the cold and hot rivers. The setting is a perfect place to take a load off and chill. Changing facilities on site and a few platforms to rest out of the water. The guide for our 5 day overland tour William Doi +62 812 39844115 brought us here. We can’t say enough good things about him. He is clearly beloved on the island. He has devoted his life to giving tourists real and unforgettable experiences, while also reinvesting and training is local community. Everywhere we went with him we were treated like family - meeting his and our driver jonas’ families, eating meals in people’s homes, and drinking with members of the towns. My wife and I are already planning a trip back to the region, largely because of the friendship we developed with William and Jonas.

Our family loved the Malanage Hot Springs! We could have spent hours here. Our 7 and 9 year old children swam for hours, and the caretakers are very welcoming. See our video of this amazing place at Travel Hacking Teachers.

Great way to relax your body after a trek or just anytime really. No crowds, I had the place to myself for an hour before anyone else arrived. The water is a mix of freezing cold water flowing on one side and boiling hot water on the opposite flowing together into a the waterhole the temperature is perfect and you can move from one side to the other if you get too hot or cold. Enabling you to enjoy it longer than a Japanese onsen.
There is a changing area and you pay a small cost/donation to the locals to use the bathing area. Close to Bena village.

Hot spring with two streams (hot and cold) coming together. You habe to choose your favorite spot for the optimal temperature. Enjoyed the stay there a lot, felt realy refreshing. Water is super clear. Costs are 10k per person and 2k for parking (scooter)

These hot springs are gorgeous - difficult if you have problems with walking as you have to step over rocks and stones a lot. Set in a forest and totally natural and unspoilt. No commercialism here! A lovely end to the day.

This was such a nice treat to experience! I was lucky enough to come in the very early afternoon before it got busy, and was actually there for about 30 minutes all by myself! It was incredibly relaxing and felt amazing with the perfect temperature mix of mountain and volcano water, making for a nice stop on a chilly day. It is a beautiful little spot and all natural. The place got busy fast in the afternoon, with locals stopping by probably to relax, maybe after work. They brought soap and many friends. In the late afternoons and weekends I assume it's quite lively. I very much stuck out as the only Bule around. The local girls were all wearing shorts and t-shirts, and the guys just wore normal shorts mostly, so I also stuck out a bit by wearing my bathing suit. I rode a bike here which was very easy except that my GPS didn't work the entire time in the mountains, so if that happens, just stop and ask people on the street along the way to make sure you're going the right direction and they'll help you out. If you want a taste of local relaxation and natural beauty, this is a great spot!
