Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is a legend attached to this bridge. A girl who killed herself as she was arranged to marry and old rich man to settle her father's debt, though she was in love with another man. The bridge has a beautiful view of the old town buildings and there are many boat parked along the river. The bridge came to live on the weekend or as indonesian call it "Malming". there are many food vendors and cars parked along the side of the bridge.
and interesting place to visit.

You can see view of the mountain from the bridge. It's an amazing view and you can take memorable photos.

The boats and ocean you can see from here is nice too.

This part of Padang city might be the only place where you can catch a glimp of former glory.
It is part of the old city, kota tua, and has apart of this bridge lots of other quaint older bridges that connect you to the other side of the rather poluted river.
We particularly liked the hamging bridge and the industrial looking yellow metal bridge some 400 m further.
You also can make the a nice walk back and have a look at the older colonial buildings.
Most of them as in the whole area destroyed because of the earthquake and are in severe need of restauration.
It is really a pity that no one cares or probably there is no money for it.
Still the nicest part of Padang i think.
