Good historical site..had earlier link with the Indian Moghul empire...sultan Deli time and his generation can still be found living on the site of the palace...quite a big piece of property.

As usual, the Melayu colour which is yellow is coloring all the palace. This palace build by Sultan Deli. You can see some picture and history of the Sultan here. There are some people rent the Melayu cloths for you to take a picture

Much better sights from outside than inside. Not much to see inside. I understand that it Is important for locals, but nit much for foreigners.

The palace is quite big but we can only see decoration and some old equipment. There are two wing which closed for visitor as like somebody still stay in. They take 5000 Irp fee for 1 person. and we found that there is some mess...More

The exhibition on the right wing describe the history of Medan royal house. Some of the souvenir shops, vendors and house guardian are unfriendly. If you want to take any photos , please ask them first for the permission.

This palace is okay. Far from your expectation of "in general" Royal palace. Still you will see some stuff that they still using during Royal ceremony. Its no longer used by the Sultan anymore. Left unmanage and my note for the management or the Sultan...More
