With some time to spare I thought I'd go over and look but it was a bit disappointing compared to other Keratons (Royal Palaces) I've seen elsewhere in Indonesia. Definitely in need of more historical conservation maintenance.

Such an interesting place, full of history and culture, but the government is not putting enough effort to maintain the historical sites and monuments in the Keraton castle it self.

You only need to spend IDR20.000,- per person (Adult, domestic visitor) for the entrance ticket. The palace shows the harmony acculturation of Hinduism and Islam. You can see many artifacts from collection of Kasepuhan family. Moreover, there is a royal carriage made about 500 years ago and it is the oldest in South East Asia (the guide said). Yes, you... I was here this afternoon, after taking long walk from Jl. Siliwangi. Heavy rain all day, and I found this place is just an ordinary place to visit. It's huge, but I only needed 20 minutes to be around.

I went with a group from my company and we were greeted with traditional dance in the hall. Unfortunately, we were time bound so we could not explore the whole complex. From my point of view, the sites were poorly maintained, so sad to see a heritage site with many potentials to look like that. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the performance.... More

Very sad to see the state of the Keraton. From the entrance you could see the place are not very presentable either for local tourist neither for foreign tourist. You could see rubish all over the place. And the sadest thing is there are NO Maintenance on the Antics left by the Sultans and the kronies. The Local Government and... More

The area is quite large with some buildings in separate sides of the complex. It has main ballroom, royal carriage collection, old paintings, and an old wheel at the back which its water believed having special benefits for health treatment. We need to queue while the staff taking the water from the wheel using bucket. The water was cool and... More

Wonderful Place of Kingdom Palace in Cirebon. Mystic and full of religious story of the King of Cirebon as well as one of Wali Songo Sunan Gunung Jati or the Great Sultan Syarief Hidayatullah
