Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Bega cheese was purchased from Bintang in Ubud today 6th November, driven 10 minutes home to make pasta and discovered when opening it was COATED in mould.
Ok, Bali is a hot country, maybe a little bit of mould or bad food happens. This though is just too much, and is blatant poor storage, we expected more from Bintang. Yes, maybe should check before we buy but this is ridiculous.
Wasn’t going to post but wanted to warn people as this is sold in the same area as fruit, veg, meat and fish- this cheese very clearly was off so we didn’t use it, but what about food that isn’t showing this clear sign, it’s not worth the risk.
Just to note- we tried to speak nicely to staff and the store manager and explained how it nearly got served to a child (if you had opened the other end, it may not have been noticed). They laughed amongst themselves when they first saw it, the manager then accused us of lying about buying it today, even with the receipt. When we politely said they could check CCTV, the manager started being threatening accusing us of not buying it there and demanding to know what Villa we were staying at in Ubud, and no kind of apology.

i would love to come to this store as it is the closest to my home where i am staying for multiple months and they have a decent selection but every time i’ve been in here the staff completely ignores me even if i speak balinese or bahasa. they will go so far out of their way to not talk to me each time but the last time was the last straw as both me and my boyfriend were physically shoved by staff while simply silently checking out. then more staff laughed at the situation

We were visiting Bali on our honeymoon, and we visited this store almost every couple days! They have literally everything you need. If you have trouble finding an item, try to ask the store captain because the employees usually default to "we don't have it". The store captain is always walking through the store, so try to ask them first before asking employees for help.

This supermarket got everything I need to fixed our lunch and dinners. They have a lot of selection of meat and seafood. Good varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables also. One thing I loved is they have a lot of souvenir items you can buy without going to the flea market and try to bargain. Here, prices are pretty much comparable to the market price. Cashiers are very helpful and friendly. Make sure you bring your own eco bag if you are shopping in Bali. Plastic bags are thing in the past. They are serious in saving the environment. I went to the Bentang supermarket in Ubud and brought my own eco bag.

We walked from Lippo Mall to Bintang and back (12km) one day before the massive fire. So happy to have gone as we always do when in Kuta. So sad to hear the news the next day. Hope a rebuild happens for our next visit.

This is a large western style supermarket along Jalan Raya Sanggingan. Parking available, opening hours 7.30am to 10pm daily. They carry a nice selection of fresh fruit, veg along with canned foods, coffee, drinks, wine, snacks and much of what you'd expect to find at your local supermarket back home. You'll find a good range of international products to complement local Bali and Indonesia food and drink brands.

A must each time we are in Bali!
You can everything under the sun here....especially groceries, souvenir, snacks and local hair stuffs.
Can be pretty crowded with tourists, comfortable shopping, do bring your own bag.

Been coming to Bali for many many years but this was the first time we stayed in Seminyak. We usually visit the supermarket on lower level of Lippo Mall.
Came across the Bintang Supermarket & was so amazed at the size & variety offered. Spent AU $135 on our first visit & returned for a second.
Great selection of fruit, we bought a whole heap of mangoes (the best) mangosteen, rambutan & Soursop. There is also a second level with non food items.

Hello, I saw many advertisings about the Bintang supermarket. I am coming to Bali for almost 11years now, and today I went this morning to the Bintang Supermarket in Ubud to buy Mangosteen tea, I bought 9 packages, because I love this tea... It's a really nice, easy to brew instant tea.
But, when I opened it at my hotel. And brewed it, it looked. Like brown dirt and smelled like moldy dirt. I had to spit it out, when I tasted it. I opened another package, this time same brand from Bintang supermarket, it was Lemongrass tea, same smell, same taste, same color.
I went back to the store and complained, but first they didn't want to let me talk to the manager, even they remwbwred mw, even the cashier greeted ne and remembered me.
After a while, after demanding the manager over and over again, he came, and told. Me, when I bit this product, I should know the taste. Yes, I know the taste, that's why I brought it back. Even he realized it was rotten, after smelling it... Still no money back.......... I had to fight for 1 hour and a half..... 9 packages comes up to almost 30dollars at 45 ooo rupees a piece.... Sorry I dont have the money to throw away in the toilet. Don't buy these teas there... And don't buy the coffees there, there is a reason why locals don't buy there....... In my experience : rotten products and temperex Expiry dates. Beware!!!!!!!! Pictures of the dirt tea, closeup, and the supermarket attached.
The manager didnt even apologize....! He just said, next time dont buy so many, actually i wont buy at all there anymore......

Hello Can we find waxing to do it at home, and not go to the institut? Or maybe electrical machine like epilatory?
Thank you a lot for your help

Hi, your mention of teas for sale in Bintang prompted me to ask you - do most hotels offer Green Teas to guests? I am a great fan of a couple of cups of it at breakfast! Thanks,

I'm quite the tea lover and was looking for some Chinese and Indonesian teas. Most good hotels offer green tea, and if you'd like to try some local Indonesian green tea you can buy small packets to try. They cost between 2000-5000 rupiah.

Inside the Bintang Supermarket, you can buy all sort of things that you need; but I can hardly tell you whether pillows are available.
