Lots of incredible art, both historical and modern. This museum was surprisingly empty of tourists on a Saturday afternoon in November. Not sure why, but it was nice to have the place to ourselves. A bit far to walk from the center of Ubud, best to take a taxi.

Not as nice as Arung Rai and further away from the center of town, but worth checking out if you've already seen Arung Rai and still have not had your fill of Balinese art. There are some truly gorgeous pieces here. However, there's some not so good (in my opinion) art mixed in with the good art, and there are... More

It is full of very diverse and interesting artists.... mostly paintings but also a room full of photographs and a room full of etchings - wonderful. Certainly some crazy things in here, but really worth the wonder around.. you can take photos without flash. There is some merchandise to buy at the end, but certainly not a pushy person around... Went here with family and found myself enjoying all the different rooms. I dont understand art but all the pictures seems pretty easy to be enjoyed. Even I spent a time to read their painting book collections on the last room. Moreover they let us buy only 1 ticket (IDR 75K) for 2 persons. Different treat for local I guess.

Neka Art Museum is a must see for anyone interested in the development of art in Ubud, Bali. It is very well set out, tracing the developing periods of art and it's influences in the region. The buildings and grounds are well maintained and a peaceful morning or afternoon can easily be spent here.
