Fantastic family day out with Made as guide. Bringing a 7 year old can be a challenge but they provided a perfect bike for him, and the crew members drove in advance and controlled the traffic at the few hotspot crossings - amazing!
Having our kids play with kids in the local school, and enjoying a great lunch at the end were other top highlights in addition to the fantastic nature.
We did a similar tour 12 years ago on Bali, and this one was even better.
It always feels great to find well run small family businesses like this and support them!

Wouwww we just joined a bike trip guided by Made (owner Happy Bike Bali cycling tour). Koffee plantation, cycling along rice paddies, visiting a compound in a village and a lot of information about Balinese culture and religion. At the end we were invited in the family house of Made for fantastic very tastful lunch. All the food ofcourse homemade!
During the whole trip we felt safe, comfortable and happy and we still feel happy!
We highly recommend this trip by Happy Bike Bali to eveybody who wants to feel and get insights of the pure Bali in a couple of hours.

This tour has exceeded all my expectations. Made is incredible hospitable and the lunch offered at his house was very tasteful.
He and his collegae have taken good care of us and our safety, chapeau!
We loved the surroundings, the school we visited, the rice fields, the compound where we learned so much about traditions and habits.
Thnks for an unforgettable experience. I would recommend this to everyone. (Children and adults).

Happy Bike is a small local company providing a very nice day out on the bicycle touring the more quiet rural areas north east of Ubud. Putu, our guide, was a great teacher about Balinese culture and customs.
The trip started at one of the coffee plantations, which actually was nice and friendly. No pressure to buy something, just a good explanation about the collaboration between the different land owners and how they grow their coffee and herbs and make a living for their families.
Then the cycling. Indeed mainly downhill. Many stops with interesting stories and explanations about Bali way of living, religions, beliefs. Finishing with a fantastic lunch at the house of Made.
Note that the quality of the bicycles was good. And size was ok, even for a tall Dutch guy.
There are quite some different companies offering similar tours. Happy Bike stands out for their personal approach and intent to let you leave with a much better appreciation and understanding of the Balinese culture and customs.

We loved this Happy Bike Bali cycle tour, guided by Made. Beautiful scenery, a step into local life passing through villages and stopping at various points of interest and visiting a balinese home. An easy and interesting cycle ride. Made has a lovely warm personality, with excellent English speaking skills and local knowledge and he takes every care to help you feel safe and looked after. A delicious lunch in the garden of Made's own home finished the experience perfectly.

The bike tour led by I Made was incredibly fun and educational! Moreover, I Made is very nice and takes all the time to explain everything. The tour is easy to do (also for children); 90% goes down. We made stops at a compound where a traditional family lives, a coffee plantation with tasting (including chocolate tasting), ate a local banana in between, explained about the rice fields and, last but not least, had lunch at I Made's home. Prepared by his wife and not to be despised. Look no further, book immediately because this is the best cycling tour around Ubud for a more than reasonable price!

My partner and I had an incredible experience on this bike tour!
Putu was our guide, he was excellent at explaining Balinese culture as we toured through villages, rice fields and the coffee plantation. He answered all the questions we had and was helpful and supportive throughout.
After the bike ride was finished, we travelled with Putu and Made to their house where we were treated to a delicious meal.
We can't recommend this tour enough- we learned and saw so much of Bali life, and we were treated kindly and generously throughout.

We had taken this bike trip last year during Easter holidays and again just last Sunday. First time we were blown away by the gorgeous views of the rice paddies, by people we met on the way, but especially by Made and his family and FOOD!!! We mentioned we’re don’t eat animal product, so Made and his wife made sure we had plenty of delicious tempe and tofu to indulge in, plain rice, incredibly tasty fried noodles and a peanut sauce that is to die for!
The second time around we were caught in a very heavy rain. Our 7 year old did an awesome job staying on bike throughout the whole trip, although he was offered to ride with Made in the car. I was surprised how good the bikes behaved in the rain, was expecting it to be slippery and uncomfortable, but the brakes did a great job on steep downhill roads, so we did not have to worry about our safety. It was a shame to miss a few stops, especially the rice paddies, but hey, telling your friends how you weathered the heavy rain 18 km on bikes is priceless! The adrenaline rush added a fun element to the experience.
Made’s first son, Putu, was so good at leading the tour! He’s such a nice young man with impeccable manners and great knowledge of his culture. Back at Made’s house at the end of the tour you can see how much love and respect is cultivated in their family. Oh, and did I mention the food?! I did? I’ll do it again! It was the best Indonesian food we had in Bali! Or, like, ever. They also had two cute puppies that our son loved playing with.
We wish your family and your business to grow and prosper, Made! Thank you for being so kind and sweet. We will definitely be back! Until next time!

When staying Ubud this tour is a must do. The ride is easy, so you don't need to be super fit. We really enjoyed the tour because of the knowledge and enthusiasm that Mr Wira brought and he showed us the traditional side of life for the Balinese. We learnt a lot about Balinese life from visiting temples, meeting school children, visiting a Balinese family and learning about their ancestral home and even rites and rituals performed when someone dies. Mr Wira and his team took care of everything, from hotel pick up, cool drinks and fruits down to the refreshing ice towel at the end of the ride. And Mr Wira's wife made the best food for lunch we have tasted in Ubud.

Today we did the bike tour. Me, my wife and our two kids (8 & 11 years old) came through a friend at Happy Bike. We had such a good time during the whole trip! The owner, Made, picked us up at our resort and took us first to a coffee plantation were we could taste 8 different kinds of coffee and 5 different kinds of teas. After that we went to the starting point of the bike trip. From there he took us during a 2,5 hours (mostly down hill) course through different places and the most beautiful sites in the surroundings of Ubud. We went through the rice fields and he explained a lot about the farmers life & how Indonesian people live in their community. The bikes we had were good and all gears worked properly. The road was really easy so you don’t get tired and is good doable for everybody. After the trip we were offered a lunch at Made’s house (also included in the price) which was one of the best meals we had in Bali!! So I can highly recommend everybody to book this trip at Hapoy Bike!!

Also the cost per person

Totally feasible with kids your age ours are 9 and 6. Pretty much all flat and downhill apart from 3 hills at the end but the car follows so if too hard your kids can go in.
It’s 450k per adult and 350 or 300k for kids

How much notice do you need to book.
Look forward to hearing from you.
