This hotel was selected by the operators of an expedition boat trip that we went on that started from Bali. Normally we would not choose to stay in a hotel such as this - it is absolutely vast and we prefer smaller, more intimate properties. Having said that, we found the rooms comfortable and well equipped, the bed huge and comfy, with ensuite walk in shower (small!)
The staff were extremely helpful and we were greeted on our return to the hotel on arrival and on return from a day trip buy music and two women presenting a Balinese dance. Lovely! The breakfast choice was enormous and catered for all kinds of tastes and nationalities.
The long walking path in front of the hotel (also used a lot by cyclists!) was lovely and mostly shaded if you turned right out of the hotel. This place is most suited to young families with kids - we dont come under that heading!! And be warned - when the tide goes out all that's left is seaweed and rocks....

Nusa Dua is one of the most famous beaches on the picturesque island of Bali, located on the southern peninsula, hence its name.
From the airport are less than half an hour by taxi, obviously depending on where you want to get, at least 250000 rupees on the taxi meter.
The arrival is imposing through the porch of an ancient temple and the Mandala monument, from where the avenues head towards the beaches and hotels/resorts.
There are several small bays, some natural, always with a pier marking them, and some with temples, which should be visited with all respect and with appropriate clothing.
You have to search very carefully in which hotel to stay and in which cove it is located; because they do not have a name, the search has to be done by hotel, counting on the guests leaving detailed and accurate reports, which unfortunately most do not.
Few are the coves really clean and quiet, good for swimming and being quiet; I suggest for both those of the hotels Sofitel and Westin; in the Blue hotel, for example, the DJ plays all day and the audience is of young people who like to fill their face until the sun rises; in St Regis the boats and strong currents prevent a pleasant bath of the sea, not to mention the dirt; in the Conrad the jet-ski and trapped boats do not give quiet, not to mention the dirt; and there it will...
Whoever is staying elsewhere on the island and wants to visit Nusa Dua, I suggest the bay of the Laguna Resort.

beach for the use and consumption of tourists, access is paid as the whole area is practically managed by a series of resorts. This already gives you the idea, furthermore, although the beach is clean by the hotels that manage it, plastic of all types floats in the sea. However, there are some low-priced restaurants and various trees that allow you to stop in the shade. Took a short bath where the water was shallow and clear. Despite everything, it deserves a relaxing day at the seaside, much better than Jimbaran beach, where the water is brown.

Very large beach, rental of an umbrella and two sunbeds 100k rupees (includes toilets and shower)
Ventilated location and many services
In the morning high tide and strong currents, in the afternoon the sea retreats and (unfortunately) dirt such as plastic bottles also surfaces

Vacation Nusa Dua Beach Inn via Kappa in all inclusive
Pension: 1st Pension in the area built about forty years ago. Very nice Inn, Balinese style. But it deserves to be renovated. Smiling and efficient staff. The all inclusive super, this gives access to 4 restaurants, Balinese, Chinese, Mexican, and Mediterranean, also 3 show meals with Buffet. Local drinks all day. Very large buffet at breakfast.
Small flats animation in the Pension almost non-existent, nice beach but not bathable and bars open only at 10am, no coffee once out of breakfast before that.
Kappa: big black spot of our stay. The facilitators are certainly smiling when you have the chance to see them. Too bad about the 3 animators only a little internship was really motivated, thank you Romane, too bad we could only see you 48 hours before your return to France.
Cocktail entertainment postponed several times. Most animations cancelled or proposed 30 minutes before, so as not to see anyone. White evening big time, my sixth stay Kappa, no pictures as usual (no pictures during the stay anyway), , nothing except drinks offered by the Inn.
Animation that took place: very nice homestay meal, brisk walk that only has the time to get rid of us, a small stop at the Artisanal Point of Sale would have been nice, cancellation of the school visit (not the fault of the animators for once) replaced by the same tour as the brisk walk.
Plus Kappa, free access to the Spa area, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and very quiet swimming pool. And free at the 3 meal show. Big thanks to Juni for the 3 personalized excursions and availability.
Many of us were very unhappy with the 2 kappa animators and delighted by Romane. The excuse was but there were only 2, why wasn’t there more when Romane was there then? Why no welcome from the Kappas on arrival? I thought it was our late arrival but apparently even those who arrived during the day were not entitled to your presence. The best contacts with the team were via WhatsApp. No doubt a new mode of animation.

Unlike the surrounding beaches, it is absolutely quiet here. There is no music, no jet skis, just once an unobtrusive beach vendor. So you can relax here wonderfully. The water is clean, at low tide you can only float a little, you need to know that.

Went to many beaches in Bali and this by far was the cleanest and safest. Sand is white and clean with no cigarette butts or rubbish in it. Same for the water no plastic and toilets and some markets nearby. Alittle reef inshore to block out the big waves.

A very nice sandy beach.
The water temperature is pleasant ,
The beach is very clean , some seaweed in the water .
A long pedestrian path allows you to walk along the beach and discover a multitude of 5* hotels
There are tides. At low tide it is more difficult to swim.
There is always a light wind on this beach.

Beautiful and clean beach in one of the best areas of Bali. There are expensive and well maintained hotels. No fuss. Narrow coastline with clean fine sand. It is necessary to understand that there are features here: the tides are low. It is fine) and sometimes bathing more like taking salt baths))) but the water is very clean. Algae left on the shore are always cleaned up outside hotels. Overall, it's a wonderful place to walk.

Hello everyone,
Pretty bad thanks, my Gehrig’s is actually really bad today. Just wondering if one to visit this beach, would you be able to wheel chair? I sometimes lose my footing abruptly and hope I could use my wheel chair to access the beach.
I hope you are well, thanks in advance,

I would like to visit Nusa Dua just for the day with our children and wondered, can we simply approach the staff at a hotel we like the look of and pay to hire their beach beds and also eat lunch there or do you have to pre book or be a resident there. Also, would our children be able to participate in the hotels kids club for the day?
Written 4 August 2019
Some hotels allow you to hire out their beach beds. But I would advise you do your research and call beforehand.
You would have to ask that individual hotel about the kids club. Although, many do allow that, as long as you pay the usual amount needed.

I understand that Nusa Dua is a long beach with many 5 star hotels owning their private stretches. For those who are not staying at these hotels but are visiting from nearby places like Sanur, which are the sections / stretches that are clean and are open to public? Are these public beaches known by specific names?
Written 22 March 2019
Hi.
It’s my understanding that the beach itself is public, you can take your own umbrella etc and sit wherever you like. The beach clubs belonging to the hotels are set just back off the sand and it’s these facilities you can’t use unless you’re a guest.
There are Warungs (restaurants) and other facilities near the Mercure Beach club that you could use - I would recommend getting a massage from the ladies there. They were excellent and if you ask I’m sure they would also then give you tips on the best places to go.
Enjoy your holiday I hope this is helpful.

We stayed at the Sofitel and the sun loungers, sun beds, umbrellas, clean towels, were free to guests and not available to anyone who wasn’t a guest. You only had to pay for drinks and food if you wanted. These were delivered to you while on the beach if you so desired.
