A worthy monument to the lives lost in 2002 bombing. Twenty two flagpoles representing countries who had citizens die. Pity the authorities don’t bother with replacing the missing flags .. poles empty?! Anyway a moment to reflect and respect.

    Marking our Respect
We make it a point to visit Ground Zero Monument and pay our respects to all those who lost their lives and to those who had their lives changed for ever each time we visit Bali. The Monument is a permanent reminder of the tragedies past and offers a symbol of hope and respect for future generations. Like all buildings and structures on going maintenance is required, this is no different to the Ground Zero Monument There is work required to repair some of the Stainless Steel fittings. There are paving stones and paving tiles that require replacing. The Memorial water feature along with the entire paving requires cleaning. The Monument is a sacred site, one where visitors from all over the world come to pay their respects. I hope those who are charged with the care and maintenance of this Monument see this post and act accordingly Those who lost their lives along with their families and friends deserve this.

This is a very beautiful monument. In this place, the names of people who died during the Bali bombing were written. The place is in the center of the crowd, so we visited here, we were very happy to see the magnificent monument with original Balinese design. We hung out in one of the coffee shops next to the monument. ..

    Sad, reflecting
2023/2024. A must place to come to when in Indonesia. Take time to reflect on how precious life is. A site of such sadness & disbelief. To think soooo many people just enjoying life lost there life. The many people to be scared from this true tragedy of evil is hard to comprehend.

    Spent time
A nice and different place. It is also a meaningful place. That's why it's quite crowded. Coming and seeing it in the crowd adds a different atmosphere to this place. We sat, drank tea and coffee and spent time.

A sombre place. This simple but effective monument commemorates the Bali bombing tragedy on October 12 2002 that resulted in the deaths of 202 people, mainly tourists.

As you can gather when you are there. The bombing took place right in the heart of then Kuta nightlife to cause maximum damage.

Our hotel Dewi Sri was close to the Bali Bombing Memorial and we would walk past here every day. We would always take a moment to think of all those innocent victims of what was a horrific time in Bali.

What I am personally unsure about is the way the memorial is lit up at night, bright strobing colours made it look more like an amusement park than a memorial.

Regardless please take the time to read the names and reflect on the loss of life of so many who were simply innocent victims caught up in an evil idealism.

We visited a few years ago with our children who did not know about the Bali bombings and again on this trip with my parents who have not visited Bali before.
The monument is beautiful but subtle.
I’m glad we were able to pay our respects.

Having been in Bali when the bombings took place in 2002, I've never been able to return to the site - despite being to Bali 10 times since. This trip I actually went, and was beyond saddened to see it could easily be mistaken as a theme park entrance at night. Bright neon lights are way over the top and take away from what tranquilly and peace the site should hold. I wish I never returned to the site, or maybe gone in broad daylight so the light show didn't take away from my thoughts for those that didn't make it

The ground zero monument is a simple and powerful. But more than the design itself, what struck me was just how crowded the Kuta area is - and how devastating that attack was 20 years ago. We hear a lot about the 202 fatalities but so many more must have been injured.

I will note, however, that Google maps has the incorrect location for the memorial. I submitted a revision to Google Maps to correct the error but who knows if it will be accepted.

Lovely memorial very touching great when the lights came on. I had a lovely tea at ground zero across the road and spoke to people who were there the night of the bombing. Watch out for scammers trying to sell their wares at expensive prices. Glad I made the effort to go from Seminyak to view the memorial

Went there while looked around Kuta. It’s a beautiful memorial. Nice place to sit and just take it in. Very noisy all around as it’s in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Kuta, but that’s what the area is.
If you’re in Bali, it’s just somewhere you should go, even if it’s for 10 minutes.

I would say this monument has a historical value due to the Bali Bombings tragedy that happens in 2002. Reminiscing that time I'm still 4th y.o watching the news on TV and feeling terrified. May their soul rest in peace.
