Dance and music is so intertwined with Balinese life that it is second nature. So much so that it seems like many dancers and musicians are performing in a casual manner even when performing at the highest caliber. The performance was held at the Peliatan Palace in Ubud, not to be confused with the Royal Palace in Ubud. I attended... More

I really loved the temple and surrounding area. One thing you have to be prepared for is all the vendors that are along the path. Not a great aspect, but they're at almost every temple. There are a couple of paths through the temple compound that end up intersecting with each other, so you shouldn't be able to get lost.... More

This show at 7:30 pm on Saturday nights is at the Puri Agung Peliatan Palace. The music is extraordinary of the three dance shows we saw. It's really a marvel when precisely timed to the dancers. There's a great variety of dancing including the Baris, dance of the young soldier and the Barong which was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed.

The dancers were amazing, seeing traditional dancers in a more professional setting was awesome, the noise from a few ppl who were there at the same time spoiled our experience a bit, but that was no reflection on the overall experience just on the rude tourists!

This is a review of the Saturday evening show at Puri Agung Peliatan palace. My wife played in a gamelan orchestra in the US for several years. We went to Ubud specifically to hear gamelan music and see legong. Gunung Sari was the second group we saw, and the show was really great. Yes, the show was geared toward tourists.... More

We saw this troupe perform in Ubud and are so glad we selected this one. The ambience of the location is so special. The dance, music and performances were amazing. It was interesting to see so many locals in attendance watching as well. Easy to get to as there was a shuttle included form the visitor centre.

This is a great thing to see if yu have not seen this sort of dance before. I got restless as it went to long and the dance seam to be the same over and over again. To see this dance once is enough.
