This is an old nice fort situated a bit far from Varanasi Cantonment area. After paying Rs.20/- each as entry fee, we entered the main building (museum). The authority have maintained a specific gesture to help the visitor not to be at a loss, while going from one room to another. The museum mainly displays the arms of old days.... More

Some years back this was a great museum to visit, but now it lies almost in an abandoned state with dusty vintage cars, swords, guns and artefacts.

the guide insisted us to visit this place. so had been with our family. feel entry charge / ticket as high for the cleanliness and and other maintenance. Saw lot of vintage cars, pistols, rifles, sword and few more. Ganga view was good from side of this fort.

The fort is actually a residence for the erstwhile royal family of Varanasi. A rickshaw ride across the river bridge will get you to the other side where the fort is located. It offers great views of the Ganges and the Benaras ghats on the other side.

We went inside the Fort which is a little run down but so full of history and the balconies give a wonderful view of the Ganges River.

This a a great place to visit, but if you are not from India, be ready to pay a large entry fee. I find that is other places, but I really dislike it. The place itself is fun to wander around in and then the museum/fort itself it great to see also! If you get a chance, spend the money... More

This fort was one of the listing in sight seeing itinerary of Varanasi. The fort is situated in Ram Nagar and 10-12 KM away from Vishwanath temple. Fort is located at bank of Ganga river which is in opposite side of all ghats. Entry fee is just 20/- per person. Driver told us that royal family of Varanasi still lives... More

Though called a fort , but actually its a residence of the erstwhile Rajas of Varanasi . Its small in size and and not maintained well . Being right on the Ganges it offers breathtaking view of Varanasi from the other side of the river .

The exhibits at the Palace Fort Museum walk-through are National Treasures paid for by the sweat and blood of the people of Benaras and India but are kept in a shabby and badly maintained condition. The staff tells you not to take photos and not to spit paan but do so themselves. If you want to see how a National... More
