It is overly hyped. We can't even click a photo in that darkness, even with the best of lenses. Maybe, you could try your luck with a tripod. I'd suggest you may couple this with a day trip on a full moon day. I hear the sunrise and sunset views are far better than this.

When our visit to view the Taj Mahal by moonlight happened at last, it fell into place like magic. The full moon that month (December 2015) was the festive night of Eid-i-Milad with the auspicious Friday coming up and Christmas Eve, as well. The stars could not have been more perfectly aligned for an extraordinary viewing of the Taj Mahal... More

Taj Mahal is a gorgeous monument by day. Having visited the Taj a few times, our expectation was that a monnlight tour, restricted to 50 people at a time, would be a superb experience. The reality, however, was a huge let down. The tour is restricted to the first podium, before the gardens leading upto the monument. While the first... More

DO NOT... DO NOT waste your time and money on this if you want to avoid feeling being cheated. This is nothing short of a scam. We had a hard time managing the tickets for this and that too @ Rs 510 per person and then the last minute shocker that no mobiles would be allowed. All this for what... More

For this, A total of 400 tourists are permitted to see the Taj Mahal, for 5 days(except friday) or around moonlit nights, in a month. These nights are the full moon night itself and the two nights before and after the full moon night. Each batch is with 50 people. To help you book in advance and avoid disappointment, Uttar... We stayed at the beautiful Oberoi Amarvilas where every room has a view of the Taj Mahal. We had a morning tour and a moonlight tour of Taj Mahal. I thought maybe we would not be able to see much because as I looked out off our balcony I could not longer see the Taj at all plus no moon.... More

Went with my friends and family on 15 Dec 2013. Though was aware that it was difficult to watch Taj with the light of the moon thousands of km away but still thought would be a fun trip with friends. Yes it was fun searching for Taj Mahal. There's one candle or bulb which is lit inside Taj Mahal. I... More
