Nice Place but not a Must-See

It is very pretty, but not as well kept as Agra Fort or the Taj Mahal. Not a bad place to stop if it is part of a package deal, but I wouldn't make a trip out of it.

Not well kept, Isolated and on the banks of Yamuna. A must visit in case if history interests you, By the bank of Yamuna (dirty) and construction all around does not set that royal tone !

This is a jewel box of a site and referred to as the "baby Taj" because of the architectural elements that are similar to its more famous older parent. It is a beautiful edifice that is very popular with tourists but no where near as crowded as the Taj Mahal. You can actually sit and think and leisurely take photos... More

This place is little known, but if you are in Agra, you should definitely visit it. It is a smaller version of the Taj Mahal, and some parts of the architecture are more beautiful than those of the Taj itself! The interiors aren't very grand, but the delicateness of the designs on the outer walls is fabulous. It is a... More

This tomb was built by Emperor Jahangir's queen, Nurjahan, in memory of her father. Built entirely in white marble and inlaid with semi-precious stones, this mausoleum sits on the banks of the Yamuna River. It's definitely worth a look as historians feel it greatly influenced the design of the Taj Mahal.

When visiting Agra this tomb is a must-see! Known as the 'Baby Taj' the architecture and detail is absolutely beautiful. The marble walls are encrusted with various semi-precious stones detailing images of flowers, fruit, vases etc. Light inside is provided by delicately carved marble that lets in the sunlight and looks beautiful. Being a keen photographer I could have stayed... More

Baby Taj is easier on the tongue than the gurgling of Itimadcetera. Baby Dumpling, lacking the grown-up proportions of Taj the Taj. But this was a prototype, learnt from big-style. The Persianesque decoration is the main beauty, the interwoven mesh of tiles, inlays of flowering vases. An interesting precursor, a warm-up act to the main attraction.

This beautiful building can be visited along with Mehtab Bhag in the evening, as both are located close to each other, in a two day visit to Agra. However I would rate Sikandara ahead of this in Agra. The architecture and work is similar to that at the Taj Mahal and Shah Jahan's prison chambers in Agra Fort. It is... More
