Not as popular as the main Taj. We did not know it existed until we arrived in India. It was a draft version of the actual Taj which took 7 years to build. He then went on to build the Taj which took 22 years. Same level of detail and precision and worth a visit

Our driver took us here after the Taj Mahal and we were pleasantly surprised. This is similar overall, but much smaller than the Taj - the actual building is a bit different, but the layout of the monument is the same in the way the different buildings are payed out. The monument was pretty quiet compared to its big brother,... More

Overshadowed by the "top" attractions in Agra, the "Baby Taj" is a very pleasant sight. The ornate and 4-way symmetrical building can be walked through and around. It's along the river so might get a breeze.

We did not have a great deal of time here. It is a beautiful place a bit like the Taj Mahal but not as big or ornate. Worth a visit

I'm happy I went here and I enjoyed the casual, less frantic nature of the place, but I wouldn't say that it's more impressive than the Taj, as some have said. With that said.....YES, add it to your list of places to visit while in Agra.

Yes the Taj Mahal was magnificent, but to be truthful, we gasped more when we visited the far more user-friendly and relaxed Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah. Older and much smaller than the Taj (though it is a mini version of the Taj) it is made of inlaid marble and has been described as a jewel box in marble. Absolutely exquisite and... More

This little tomb is very similar in structure and design to the Taj Mahal. The inlay patterns that cover every inch are amazing and the symmetry and simple layout make it a very interesting sight. Plus the crowds dont make it out here

Since I am a local resident of Agra. So, I have visited this place many times. This is like a mini Taj Mahal. This is older than Taj and maintained nicely. This monument is full of peace and can be visited in an easier way.

This mausoleum is often not on the prescribed tour list but I think is worth the visit. The massive structures and detailed work here is surely unique. The story behind this place is intriguing too especially about the queen nurjahan and her various political schemes...if that is the right word!!
