Numerous varieties of roses at full bloom in month of May. Very nice place to see different coloured roses with their name plates. A must visit place to witness a well maintained garden in the midst of the town.

May be we visited during a season when flowers are not bloomed yet but still it wasn't a very good experience. People in groups taking snaps and not giving an inch for you to capture any view in your camera. Rowdy south Indian oys staring girls from North India. Coming in between your frame deliberately. Pathetic.

We had read a lot about Ooty's Rose Garden, but unfortunately, we found it to be quite disappointing; maybe it was a case of high expectations. Most of the roses had wilted away (it was end-May 2022). Also, the garden directly faces an over-built portion of Ooty which is quite an eyesore. In case you are short of time, you can skip this one - both the Botanical Gardens and the Karnataka Horticulture Garden are more enjoyable.

Rose garden has been beautifully landscaped; a large variety of rose species. The cleanliness level is striking; not even a slight suggestion it's a Govt maintained Garden. Full credit to the public authorities for their efforts.

Large garden with all colors of roses. We visited in early January and I guess this wasn’t the right time to see blooming flowers. Nonetheless, it is well maintained with thousands of rose plants. If you love flowers / greenery, this is a MUST DO while visiting Ooty..
Generic Tip not related to Rose Garden 😊… : While visiting Ooty remember it has banned Single use Plastic – so you will not find 1 L water bottles – carry your own steel OR thicker plastic bottle

Huge garden with a variety of roses. One could spot numerous types of roses never seen. Maintenance was bit lacking though after it opened up post the lockdown period. Saplings are available to purchase. Refreshing to walk across the garden. Seating arrangements are there and best is to enjoy the evenings and sunset from here. Nominal entry charges applicable and parking is available.

I see a lot of reviews about Rose Garden. Some are positive & some negative. So what is the best time of the year when one can see lots of roses in this garden ?
Written 23 June 2016
We had been there in March end.. Hardly any roses had blossomed.. so better time to see it maybe between April and May.
