The Meenakshi Amman temple is one of the most important sites both from the Religious and architectural points of view. A must for those travelling in South India.

Even though it is workship place, one can admire the whole work of this temple by ancient rulers here.

We went in the evening the weather was not that hot. The crowd was less. With a guide he explained the history of temple very well. I would certainly recommend this temple visit.

We visited this temple on a Sunday afternoon, this temple was bit crowded at that time. yet has a great history of pandiyas and tamil literature. Famous shiva thiruviliyadal happened at the very same sights pond.

I went to Madurai for some business work but this temple was so beautiful that I couldn't stop myself for the visit. It is as beautiful from inside as it is from outside. Sculptures on exterior are made so beautiful.

I am traveling to Kanyakumari, via Madurai on Thursday 8 June and expect to reach Madurai around 11 am,wanted to visit Meenakshi temple. Hence wanted to know usually how much time will it take to finish the darshan Since my son who is 2years a old is joining, we expect a huge queue Because if it take more time or if it's expected to be crowded, then I can think of visiting some other time. Kindly request your thoughts on the same.

Yes. Temple will be visited by numerous devotees and tourists. But it is not suffocating or difficult to manage. On important festival days the crowd will be much more.
