Though the architecture is awesome but the place is very poorly maintained. Though I could not catch a glimpse of the light and sound show in the evening. Nothing in particular to be seen except for small attached museum.

INDO -DRAVIDIAN construction with the touch of ITALIN architecture and built before 500 years is unbelievable..the king who built this construction have built several other constructions but this one stays unique... must watch place for tourists don't miss this place if you were in madurai

This is an okay kind of palace. Visited during day time, nothing much to see. You can spend about half hour here. They also conduct light and music show in evenings. Since its open seating, check for the show during rainy season. It's about 15...More

Old palace which has not been maintained well by the government. Place is not so great as most of the parts are ruined because of lack of maintenance.

I would say about 3 hour if u want also to visit the museum which is really great (be careful museum is closing around lunchtime)

Scheduled show begin at 7pm. But, it is not all days. Due to poor maintenance and scheduling many a time it does not happen.
