Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A must visit as it is said- the crystals were made to see for the public after sitting in box for almost 100 years. Crystals will also give you a glance of life which the families in that time used to have. There are audio guides available there and the tour will leave you mesmerised. The phones and cameras are not allowed and you will have to handover them. It was a proud moment to know about the history.

If you love crystal, this is a must visit while in Udaipur. The displayed items are beautifully crafted and bring to life an era of grace and beauty that is unlikely to ever exist again! The sheer luxury and clever designs are mesmerising.
It was a privilege to have been able to experience these beauties.
The only drawback is that there is no photography allowed. On the other hand, we enjoyed the collection and commentary of the very knowledgeable guide without worrying about taking photos of the collection!

Again a ruler of a part of India was fooled or tricked to give a big amount of money to UK companies to produce something which looks impressive.
That it surely does, the amount of crystal on display and what you all could do with it is stunning and impressive (a bed mad of crystal of all things) but the exhibition. lacks explanations and context. Still in itself and for 20 min, impressive enough to not miss it if you are in the area.

Bursting with crystal, including beds, chairs and couches, plus enough glasses, in all shapes and sizes, to serve a 300 guest party. No a/c. In a mezzanine overlooking a ballroom. Good toilet. Not a Must See, but if you’re touring the Palace, this is right there and worth 20 minutes.

this is quite interesting. The price may have felt like a bit much in comparison with the price of the whole palace tour. There were far fewer visitors here then at the palace, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. There were some interesting items to view.

Maybe max one or two glass items make you say Wow but rest all items are just glass items. I think if the king had seen these items he would have rejected these items too from the Britishers.
Maybe Use this entry fee for Palace Guide or to buy some items.

If you're expecting beautiful sparkling crystal out of this tour then stop right now and go do something else because you won't find that here.
This is terrible on multiple levels.
First off it's expensive. It's short, boring, has no signs indicating what anything is - it's awful. For what it is it's a total rip-off.
Second you get 'hushed' the whole time because the Maharana lives nearby and god forbid you might disturb him as he takes your money to look at his crap glassware. You are not allowed to talk while you tour this display
Third they take your cellphone and camera away. As in physically take it from you. No photos allowed. Why you'd want to take a photo of Walmart glassware in this display is a mystery to me but they take them away lest you get a picture of the Maharana's glass bum scratcher. I've respected no photography signs countless times for displays that I actually would want to photograph. This is a draconian phone policy to prevent a non-issue
Save your money, throw it in the street, give it to a poor person - do something with it but don't waste it on this garbage display.

Crystal galary is a display or crystal articles that belong to royal family. Ticket of Rs 500 per head just to see crystal articles is too much.
Tickets listed complimentary drink, however we were told that they have stopped the complimentry drinks since few months. One of the audio guide provided stopped halfway.
You may skip crystal galary unless you really want to spend so much money to see crystal articles. I did not fond the experience worth the money spent.

Sir,
With due respects to his majesty, I personally thank His Majesty and his trust.
I personally feel that such magnificent place should also be open to the under privileged and deprived in the society who cannot afford such high entry price., for I felt sad... when a few children wanted to see that place but their parents could not afford and they had to return back....
These children are in the age group of 14-18 and seems to be from a poor family but educated and I felt that they deserve to see such things and be proud of our history which is no match to any of the world's histories
I earnestly request his majesty/his highness that atleast one day or a certain time should be given to the deprived to have the feast to their eyes with this magnificent collection in the world., which our country treasures.
Thanks and regards

Sheer Grandeur it is! You need to see it to believe it. Furniture and cutlery all made of crystal is a sight in itself. It is a glimpse of the glorious past of our country.
The Gallery has an entry ticket priced at Rs 550 per person. This is inclusive of entry to Darbar Hall and audio tour. Camera is not allowed in Crystal Gallery and you need to submit an ID proof to get inside.

They accept both cash and card. THe entrance fee is minimal if you do not take a guided tour however I would strongly advise an audio tour which costs slightly more but absolutely worth evrry penny spent.

Is this crystal gallery open for public (of course with an entry fee of 550/- odd)? Or, do we need to book a stay in Fateh Prakash Palace hotel to see that? What are the timings?
Written 11 August 2016
it is open for all with payment ,no need to stay in hotel .ensure to visit darbar hall and ask the house keeper to lit up all lights as usually they avoid ,and if got a chance go to basement as well(which is restricted).

Hi, it will be of immense help to me if you kindly let me know timing of the day when we should visit this place. And what is the estimated time needed to cover the place. Is there any entry fee for the place? And how much time should I arrive at the place to get the tickets?
Written 27 March 2015
Hi, we have been there twice. You can go between 9=5 , I guess Both the time we were there after 11 am or so. The entry fees are INR 550/- per person. Time required to cover the entire place is approx 60-75 min. Earlier, they used to offer high tea for a sum of 500 bucks and that took another 20 min. Tickets are available easily.
